Bad sign. We had the same in Koper, but I doubt any such sign was installed, just signs when you had to turn. Perhaps people didn't understand why so many right turns, but signing cities on detour signs (yellow/orange) would've made things much easier and more understandable.

Theoretically speaking, this means that instead of still being in a zone where you're not allowed to drive more than 30, you may now only drive up to 30 until you've passed an intersection. Could've been made a lot easier by just placing the "end zone 30" at that intersection.

Nice collection of signs! Sometimes you wonder why nobody noticed those big errors in those signs before they were installed...

"THE [something] CENTRE - LABYRINTH". The [something] is either "DEVIC" or "DEVIL".

Huh? The speed limit is 30 as long as you stay on that road. If you turn onto a different street it's no longer 30. Within the zone it's also 30 if you turn onto a side street. At least that's how I would understand it.

No, within city limits there is a fixed speed limit (mostly 50 km/h). Other signposted limits are only valid until the next intersection, unless they're a "zone". So Glodenox is right that the 30 limit only applies to the next intersection, because you are leaving the 30 zone.

Is that a Benelux thing? I've never heard of a speed limit sign only being valid until the next intersection. I'm also pretty sure that's not the case in .at

I thought it was a Europe-wide thing based on the convention of Geneva.

Remember it only counts if

1) the speed limit is higher or lower than 50 km/h (general urban speed limit)
2) it's not in a "zone"

Hm. Now that you mention it, it does make sense: If the speed limit is higher or lower, there needs to be a sign after every intersection for the people who come from the intersecting streets unless it's a zone.

What I didn't know is that if there's no sign after an intersection (and no sign ending the higher or lower limit) it automatically goes back to the standard city wide limit.

What went wrong with the person who painted these yellow lines? You see them all over the place on this Baustelle near Würzburg (A3 westbound). There are far worse examples than this one.

What's wrong with them? The left lane is probably 2m wide to make enough room for trucks on the right lane.

@Chris: They aren't straight

Sometimes they make almost a 90 degree turn, but I haven't made pictures of that situation, unfortunately.

The age of the house movers is over. Here come the city movers! By the way: the image didn't show up, I had to quote your post to get the link :P

Many of the pictures above are clearly signs that have been turned around by other people, might confuse some people though.

Greetings,
Glodenox
