I think it's the perfect design looks alot like the Ground Zero projects, which is good: Unity. And not like in Dubai or something all very different all trying to be special, in New-York you mostly just have old Art-Deco style buildings like ESB and totally blue/grey glass buildings like this one and Freedom Tower

Here's the story from Curbed: http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2010/0...y_revealed.php

Incredibly bland and disappointing design. It doesn't even look like a Christian de Portzamparc. Oh, and the new name of this tower is CARNEGIE 57.

The comments on that article are hysterical.

This is exactly how I thought this would play out. The developer hypes up his tower to be a real architectural gift, and it ends up being good but not great. If he hadn't said anything about the design I bet people would be loving it.

That is one huge wall of glass that can truly be characterized as "opressive"

I see. Thanks for explaining that to me.

I don't think that this is the final design, rather a render that should give us an idea about how this building will look like.

Am I the only one who actualy like this design? I thing this is goin' to be beautiful tower...Just look at that shiny blue color...And those vertical lines that makes it look taller...And it's not even a boxy...I has levels...It's goin' to be great...And with 300m it's goin' to be above everything around...

If De Portzamparc signs his name to this wretched design, he just lost a whole lot of business and all his credibility. Whorechitect.

I'm a bit lukewarm about the design. I like the podium. But I was expecting a "pointy" crown at the top.

Anyways, it's nice to finally have a name and a render.

Hated it at first, but going by the second rendering, it's actually a beautiful tower!!

What an dramatic transformation of the Central Park skyline.

I'm really disappointed by the design. I hope they change it (but not the height).
