I like it.
I think this will be one of those towers that will look a lot better in real life than in the renders. also we might get a better idea for what it will actually look like in the details when better renders come out.

The first render doesnt do much for me but the render of it in the skyline looks great, a great addition to the skyline!!

the second render with the central park skyline looks very good! this tower looks way taller than 1000ft - can't wait for the final height figure (although i know there probably won't be any height changes, but i'll keep my fingers crossed). i had very low expectations from the very beginning, so for me the design is just doing fine. it could be better - of course - but for now i'm satisfied.

I don't want them change the color or anything but this would look cool in black and gold

I couldn't get the gold right so i just left it

imo this design is very New York... meaning conservative but stylish. not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. it will look good in the skyline at least.

Usually the finished product looks better than the renders so it's fair to bark at these drawings, and it's fair to bark at this design considering the kinds of truly elegant, innovative work of Christian De Portzamparc. This to me is as if Frank Gehry released a design that looked just like the Staples Center. It's just so full of fresh FAIL.

Beautiful!!!!!!

Congrats NYC!

I wonder how much the penthouse will be priced at? I'm guessing 70 million.

The developer is aiming for $6,500/sf on average, and therefore, the penthouse may go for more than that.

Considering the masterpiece that Extell revealed yesterday, I can't wait to see what it plans for this site down the street which allows for a taller building!

Just hope the glass facade is good, but i trust the architect, given the previous buildings he has done.

As for all the bashing, no surprise. Complaining about someone else's work is almost everybody's favorite sport. Pathetic.
yeah because you love every building you've ever seen. you know hypocripsy is pathetic itself. If I don't like something, I'm not going to pretend I love. And they did it to themselves. Keeping the design to themselves wasn't cool.

I think it's a good design. It's elegant and a great height, and it looks like the cladding has a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing it built.

What IS your problem? Take the rude attitude elsewhere please, no one wants to here your bitter rants written with incredibly poor English. This is a civil forum where we act like civil people.

Seems to have some art deco cues. The crown and the combination of straight lines with curves. Looking forward to see it built. Could look quite classic.
