Possibly. But not many people drive to mid-town Manhattan for their visits (well, some ding bats from Jersey who go to the theatre do, but they probably won't be the clientele of this hotel).

Also, keep in mind there are public garages around where people who are desperate to drive into Manhattan can park.

I would imagine they had a lot to put into this building, the real estate is really expensive, and so they don't want to dedicate more to parking than is necessary.

It's been over 10 years since I've been in NYC, and I've forgotten quite a bit, so I've got a curious question: Out of all the cars that drive though Manhattan, what percent of them are taxis?

That's a great question. That should be a "If you're a true New Yorker" question. We should all guess the answer and see who is the closest.
My guess is somewhere around 30% in midtown and lower Manhattan and 15% uptown.

That last pic is amazing!

Found this on Wiki, which isn't usually to bad for this kind of stuff;

Quote:
Around 48% of New Yorkers own cars, yet fewer than 30% use them to commute to work, most finding public transportation cheaper and more convenient for that purpose

It wouldn't matter since 10022 is not UES.

According to this analysis (page 3, FN 7):

Quote:
for a typical weekday, 1.41 million CBD miles traveled by medallion taxis, and 3.43 million CBD miles for all motor vehicles combined. The taxi share in the CBD is thus 41%.
(CBD is south of 59 St)

I love Carnegie Hall Tower. I love the color and I love the top. It's too bad it'll be overshadowed by this, but it's also a good neighbor for the new tower.

So for the umpteemth time the garage in this building will have more than enough parking spots given how few residents are likely to have a car around.
51.6%. 51.6% is a majority so most people in that zip code have a car. Don't care if it's 50.01%. Most do. You said most didn't. You made a long post that was inaccurate. One57 not having a garage would be low-rent since most rich people have cars. These buildings have garages for a reason. Get it?

You lost, I won.

Next.

Too many false and ignorant statements polluting this thread.

Did I answer your question? Or should we just carry on with fake/wrong info?

599GTB,

you sure sound like an *******, so i guess that makes it more likely you're a true new yorker.

Not even close to being true. Try re-doing the math. Why is it that people who can't do simple math are always the most obnoxious.

BTW, as I actually do live in NYC hopefully I'll get some pics this weekend. This thing seems to be holding to one floor per week. Maybe it will top out before 1 WTC

LOL. Your argument fails so it's natural you move to into technicalities. Fine, 51.251967377307196% own vehicles. If you pardon my math, i'll pardon your ignorance.
