The height is great, but the way the developer talked up the design as the "greatest" ever is just a laugh. I can think of a dozen better looking buildings in NY.

But a thousand footer is still great to see.

Even Nouvel's MOMA highrise nearby looks better, but cameout it looks fine enough though.

Nice tower. Il ike the wave structures and the modern glass look of the cladding.

As long as it's bright and bold without being overbearing, I don't care what color it is.

Very fitting design, nice addition to the midtown skyline.
I'm happy that it is a "real" supertall,
not a skyscraper with a poorly designed spire to reach supertall height!
(eg. NY Times & BOA)

I bet most of us were waiting for something more innovative and breahtaking, and the result is more what we can call as ordinary.Still a good project anyway.

thats a bad methodology. renderings almost always make the buildings look way taller than they actually are.

NY is probably the only city on earth in which a 300m tower that looks like this can be called ordinary. It's kind of like Sweden in which blonde godesses are everywhere and each lovely cherub -- who would be a 10 anywhere else -- is ordinary.

I think the building should have the curved side facing central park.

I actually like the way that the building faces. There will be more window room for people to look at the park on the side that is flat than if they oriented the curved side towards the park, which is surely why they did it that way. Should be a neat building!

Come on people, how this could be ordinary? Show me two or three towers similar to this one, and I'll say it's ordinary too..

Reminds me a bit of Ocean Heights with that curve at the top. Trump Tower (chicago) minus the spire, is similar to this.

It's just a blue/grey glass box with setbacks and a curved crown. It's not the worst tower, but it's nothing special.
