Oh well. People with the money to live in these buildings can't be troubled to move into another one of the 10 gazillion other park view apartments in the area?

I'm not very keen on this design, especially the random cladding and random lumps and curves with no logic or consistency. It's disappointing for a Pritzker Prize winning architect.

I believe they intended it to look like a waterfall, and the random shades of blue on the side representing the way water sparkles in the light.

After seeing the renderings and now the construction what this tower reminds me of --- and hear me out on this, I think the tower looks like a modern version of the New York towers of yesteryear where the city required set-backs at different intervals? The setbacks on this building are not nearly as pronounced but still reminds me...

I did not know what to think at first when they first announced this building but have really grown to admire it. Wish I could afford to live there!

Here's a hint: None of it is random.

Last time I saw this building was about a month ago when I went to see a pianist at Lincoln Center. It was taller than most of the other buildings by it. It really looked beautiful in the sky, even though the there was no cladding. It just seemed to "fit in".

Can't believe it was only a few months ago that we were badly wanting to see it from Central Park.

When the structure is topped out and the glass is above Essex house, people will really start to take notice. It'll pop up in the photo albums of just about every tourist in central park.

i surprised the curtain wall is lagging so far behind...i wonder if they had trouble in production due to the design.

I think it's more because there is very little space on this site (well none really) so they've probably been focusing on getting building materials on site and not focusing to much on the glass atm. Would be a nightmare if they had all the cladding arriving with building materials, the whole street would probably have to be closed off

Chalk this one up as another beautiful tower for the city. Continuing to prove New York is rising higher and higher.
