I think I know what's causing the problem. That is an older diagram of Otie after which the position of the mech floor planned for floor 47 was changed to floor 49. I'm gonna show you a diagram another forumer made on this thread a few months ago for the lower floors and one which I just made for the upper floors. The black panels on top of the building kinda make it hard to exactly see how many floors are there, but I think they are at floor 66 atm (though I may be wrong)

I agree that whether there is a full floor of height at the top is questionable but floors 60 and 61 definitely aren't one floor. I made the red lines longer because only in a part the 2 floors were united. Where the red lines end and on the other side there can be clearly seen that it are 2 floors so it may be 65 floors, but not 64

Third!

Whenever I google in "Future NYC", I'm always shown depressed pictures of Manhattan getting flooded by global warming instead of future skylines, so I've very happy for sbarn's work!

You can see from Otie's diagram that one of the "penthouse" condos is at the level of the current setback, ie floors 60-61 in Kanto's diagram above. However, all sources list this condo as occupying two separate floors. So the fact that it is only one condo unit should not mess up the floor count at all. That space is going to be incredible btw... I don't know if it will be $100 mil incredible... But surely one of the finest residences in NYC. The dead-center aerial view of Central Park is magnificent.

This and the Verre will be such a great match and will compliment each other nicely; being both similar height, similar skinny'ness/mass, very unique designs, upper'ish midtown and both overlooking the park.

Awesomeness!

This makes me glad they went with a more grey glass than the blue of the renders/protective covering, they should look great together.

But then why when I count I count it to be at floor 49?

Your mistake was you added the 13th floor.

Floors in North America go from 12th floor to 14th floor.

Here comes the arguement about why not adding the 13th floor is stupid. Whenever it gets mentioned this arguement ALWAYS begins.

After floor 3 goes floor 3M (mechanical) not 4th floor..That's the first thing..So mechanical floor with concrete walls is not on 20th floor..It's on 19th..

I am copying this from the document they submited so they can get permit..Believe it or not, this is official document and that is how it's built..

EXISTING 019 - 019
PROPOSED 019 - 019
MECHANICAL ROOMS, ELECTRICAL ROOM, POOL EQUIPMENT ROOM

And after 20th floor there's another 20M floor..Mechanical..

Also from official document:

EXISTING 020 - 020
PROPOSED 020 - 020
ACCESSORY HOTEL HEALTH CLUB LOCKER ROOMS, STEAM AND SAUNA ROOMS

EXISTING M20 -
PROPOSED M20 - 40
CHANGE
ACCESSORY HOTEL FITNESS CENTER

EXISTING 021 - 021
PROPOSED 021 - 021
CHANGE
ACCESSORY RESIDENTIAL LOUNGE

That's why next mechanical floor with full concrete walls is 47th, not 49th..
