Wow! Great renders, that slenderness is impressive. It seems to fit in quite well.

Breathtaking. Together with Nouvel's Tour de Verre Tower it's gonna be New York City's most magnificent vista...At least until the new WTC is complete

Don't forget Extell's project just west of here. It will be even taller than this one.

I just hope they brace the brick buildings nearby properly, last thing we need is another collapse.

Show me your rear!

I would still like to see a rendering of the 58th Street side Carnegie 57--which I understand will be the hotel entrance. Is there, as Extell promised, a significant setback there? Can someone please shine a light on the rear end of this thing?

^The plans filed with the DOB do show a big setback on the north side.

Can you possibly be more specific? I'm afraid I can't read the plans. My big questions are two: How high will the 58th Street structure go? And how deep into the lot from the 58th Street side will the higher tower begin?

Here's the plans as given from the DOB. I've added color to make the different sections stand out a bit better. Red is the main shaft of the tower, and gray sections are all the setbacks.

From this we can see that the main part of the tower will be set back from 58th street by about 60'. I do not remember how high the streetwall is supposed to be on 58th street.

That is a very slender bit on the final setback.... Reminds me of that one tower up off of 8th ave i think it was, the one with windowless concrete as one face all the way up.

This'll be a heck of a "sliver" building.
