Meanwhile, the crane on One57 has been sitting here (minus the boom) for almost 3 months now, which gets me to believe they won't replace it. I wonder if they'll use a BMU or something to pull the rest of the pieces up.
You forgetting one thing... At St.Geroge tower they able to set up a mobile crane and take boom off using that. Here you can't use mobile crane because the crane is too high. They had to take a boom apart by hand.

And crane is not sitting without boom for 3 months. They got done taking boom off not long time ago.

Great pic, this tower really has a great location, it dominates from every angle.

But not for much longer. 432 park will be visible from there as well, I guess.

Yeah, I'd guess it will be a little right of Bloomberg. It'll fill that gap nicely.

That is for sure, in the middle is even the 647ft/197m Sony Tower visible, which is located in front of 432 from that angle.

Still, I see damaged parts on some the recent photographs. You'd think they would have at least gotten all that off by now...

That's like asking why don't car dealers make their own tires
Do you think that the people that are going to live there are construction workers or even the contractors? If I were a billionaire, why would I buy all the equipment to build my own house?

That is a good solution, but they have to break the crown back down.

The engineers on this project are to be commended, as well as Extell. Their handling of the crane incident was admirable.
