There was a report a few days ago about this tower on the french TV, the most expensive apartment located at the very top was said to cost several millions $ (I've forgotten its price but I remember feeling dizzy...) Only VIP or very well off people can afford such accommodations, for a change...

I think between 80-100 million

EDIT: "MAY 18TH, 2012
One 57 breaks record announcing a sale price of over $90 million for its duplex penthouse on the 89th and 90th floors, the highest price ever paid for a single residential property in Manhattan. One 57 is now over 50% sold with over $1 billion in total sales since its launch only six months ago."

I mortgaged my house, vacation cabin, cashed in my all my stocks, and my entire life savings thinking I was getting a lower floor condo but I was mislead.....turns out it was just for the first 6 months of trash service

I think the people buying these insane condos/apartments are for the most part rich foreigners. They are glorified vacation homes. While I appreciate these new towers, I'd also like to see some more modest buildings that "normal" New Yorkers can live in.

Normal New Yorkers wouldn't want to live here anyway. There is no neighborhood feel on 57th st at all.

I was specifically referring to some buildings with reasonable rents in certain parts of Manhattan, but since there is no money in that for the developers it is never going to happen.

Um, 432 is so slim I don't think it's capable of filling any gaps!

432 will fill that gap between the Four Season Hotel and the GM Building in the photo above...note that it will be almost exactly TWICE as tall as the GM Building.
