From a distance, this thing looks like Nina Tower in Hong Kong.

That last picture is from last summer and shows how little this project is advanced in the past 6 or 8 months. Just a bit more cladding. Sad.

When I saw that crane snap I thought "This will be a horribly debilitating blow for the construction schedule". Sadly I was right, though I really wish I wasn't

I don't think anyone in the world thought that it would be down this long. I'm pretty sure there is something else going on that we are not aware of...

Or it's this...

Yeah, I'm aware of that. But isn't it kind of weird for a partial stop order to last this long? After all, we are approaching 6 months since this crane ordeal happened.

Yeah, Robert said it was only a minor violation here, like the two we've seen over at 432 Park.

Me has a feeling they are going to re-install the tower crane. I know it has been said that they can finish the tower with the Derrick, but if they were going to do that, then why wouldn't they start removing the crane sections? The've even placed 2 sections on the makeshift platform instead of lowering them to the ground. Perhaps that is what they are waiting on

Me has the same feeling.

I don't recall anyone saying for sure that the derrick can (or can't) finish the job. Its strength and reach look very limited. So if there is any big HVAC or other equipment left to install, then I guess they have no choice but to reinstall the crane.

Without searching through hundreds of post's, I recall it being around the time of the accident or shortly thereafter. I think they were talking like the only thing left to do was the cladding. Probably someone that was just guessing or something

I fear you might be right. Maybe they still need to test the crane sections that were hit by the falling boom if they are not damaged
