Wow. But I don't like downloads for some reason, even if they're free. I feel like if I download something, it's a permanent part of my computer.

Photoscape is free and works pretty good too for basic stuff.

This is the simpliest of the simpliest, you can do it too. Just with basic paint. You can see it's not perfect. I don't download such things either.

If you don't, you run the risk of Flickr blocking SSC, which they've done in the past.

We do need a link to the author (even if it's you) and the best way to do this is use the BB.code for sharing the image. If that option is shut down, just a regular link to the author will do. On other sites people get away with providing no links or just typing in a name credit but Flickr has a thing for SSC given our enormous size.

Paint? Well, the photoshop I saw on the previous page looked like it was real (well, not exactly, because I see Manhattan every day WITH One57's crane). Does paint have that same effect? I'm very bad with paint (the computer thing, I'm okay with real painting)

Yes, just paint, and I'm not that good in it either. Some othere members here have some really fantastic photoshop skills. ( like sbarn )

Don't be TOO jealous, because I don't LIVE in Manhattan. I live in another borough, but I'd say my view from my borough is pretty good.

Your photoshop is really good. I don't mean to be greedy or anything, but have you ever "dismantled" 1 WTC's elevator with photoshop?

I wonder how sbarn's work looks like.

That looks more realistic than most of the PROFESSIONAL renders people make! Maybe it's just because it's from far away. But anyway, I'd be pretty happy if that were the real design for the Nordstrom Tower (is #14 the Nordstrom Tower)?

And I've seen that. Pretty good.

No that's not an actual render of Nordstrom Tower, don't take that one litterally, it's just for imagination.

I know, but like I said in the other thread, I'd be really happy if they accepted any of the fake renders for this building. I hope the architect does that or has a competition (and if there is, which there probably won't be, let's have some awesome designs that look exactly like the ones in the fake rendering!)

Guys, I was at Central Park near W66th street last night and from my vantage point I'm afraid that dark patch is not because it is new glass. It really is visible that it's a different shade. I really hope I'm wrong.

But it did not look bad.. Need to walk up closer and see it. I thought the tower was looking glorious as the sun was setting. I really dig this tower.

Exactly. There is other new glass that looks exactly the same as the glass 10 floors below. That is a dark blob.

I thought it was obvious the dark blob is supposed to be dark?

The building it supposed to represent a waterfall, the water on top is darker due to it being deeper, then as it drops over the 'curve' it all separates and spreads out to form a sort of spray which has a lighter tone, and the further away from the main bit of falling water it is, the paler it gets

quite a clever idea the architect has come up with
