I love how, with its crown, stripes and setbacks, this tower pays homage to the older art deco buildings but in a modern way, fitting in perfectly with the skyline. I think we need a modern version of the art deco revolution in New York!

Wow, I remember thinking to myself last year that I wouldn't like the completed tower, but I' stand corrected

I thought it would look a bit taller, but now it just seems to blend into the rest of the skyline.

I felt the same way about CitySpire. it was a very tall tower that was/is barely noticeable on the skyline. One57 is more noticeable but it only dominates over Central Park.

The video seems to show the discolored glass panels on top (:27). Too bad. An otherwise nice building.

The Baccarat Hotel should be fully cladded now except the side walls. It finishes next year.

Glad to see that on the North facing fašade on each set backs there will be vents like at the top. It will be a nice touch.

The idea of photoshopping new buildings in old photo's is quite cool actually

Imagine one57 in a photo from the early 1900's...

This is such a cool shot. I'm a little confused though. Wouldn't the ESB and the Twin Towers be visible from this angle? Or were they edited out?
