From Rush's The Trees, lyrics by Neil Peart:

The trouble with the maples
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade

I use to love Rush!

The maple tree have sort of gotten along with the Oak tree for thousands of years and will con't to do so.

I take it that the Oak tree is the worlds 1% living high up in the sky and the Maple Trees are us measly 99 percenters. NYC has always been about the uber wealthy and everyone else calling NYC their home and I certainly hope that this does not change, otherwise NYC would not be NYC anymore.

to think the Nordstrom Tower would barely fit into that shot!
Also, One 57, 250 W 55th and 1717 Broadway are great additions to the skyline.

Eventually the canyon will get so deep that it will be extremely dark down there.

Seems to be THE Best cladding in the history. Can't think of another one as beautiful.

This building looks incredible in photos, how is it in real life? In other words, is the cladding top quality? Is it too blue, not blue enough, or just the right blue? Also, if I may ask, who is the architect?

The architects are Christian de Portzamparc and Costas Kondylis & Partners.
