I absolutely love the curves this tower has. The design reminds me of a art deco style, while being modern at the same time.

Do you realize that there are 3 towers much taller than this one and another 3 around the same height rising in the same area? This height will be the norm around Central Park within the next 3 or 4 years.

Yes I do, and it's still too far forward, aesthetically.

People would have thought the same when the buildings surrounding CP were built decades ago! Once a few more the same height are built it won't look out of place.

Oh yes, why would they build taller towers in an area where better park views are sought after AND possible?

Personally I think the location is perfect. Any further back and it would be less noticeable (not like it's possible anyway, with multiple high-end residentials behind it.)

Someone at my work had brought a real estate development magazine and had left it in the lounge. When I started looking into it, there was nice 3 page promotional article about this project and some awesome shots from the interior.

Gorgeous view

Are those solar panels at the top, for otherwise I can't imagine why they would be so dark, as they really stand out and compromise the appearance of the tower.

I think the speckled cladding is meant to suggest a handful of confetti thrown in the air, or champagne bubbles rising in a flute. If they had the cladding get lighter in shade as the top of the tower was approached, that sort of playful effect would be maximized.

I first thought it would look better if they were placed in lines like the front of the tower, but now it's completed I changed my mind.

I still don't understand why they chose to use those dark panels at the top. The worst part of it is that, unlike the rest of the cladding, those dark panels are not reflective.
I am still praying they are covered with some kind of protective films about to be removed.

I'm torn on this subject.

Manhattan's appeal is it's street life forged from urban density. However it also has a massive park that makes you feel like you aren't even in a city.

With tall towers being built next to the park, there are fewer places from which you lose site of all buildings, fewer places when the city doesn't loom overhead.
