Where is that article from and when. Bizarre floor numbering - what 90th floor? Also, where do they get "not a single brick has been laid"?

Doesn't seem like this is a trustworthy article.

The "not a single brick has been laid" refers to the penthouse, not the whole building.

Yep at this very moment there is no penthouse lol. And I've seen 90 floor many times this summer.

Looks like after "deleting" 13th floor, they will "delete" floors from 76 to 89 too..

I guess, 90th floor is the top one, in the last curved setback..10,923 sf..
75th is then that floor below the last one, where walls are still straight..13,554 sf..

Marketing?

No, things are not written that way. They always refer to if the building as a whole is under construction or not, not some sub part of it. Note, the building is concrete and glass, not brick, anyways.

This is just typical NY Post having no idea what is going on.

It also means the floor numbers and dollar values mentioned should also be taken with a grain of salt.

57th and 9th is poor looking ratty dump with ugly shabby tenements and banal highrises . It looks/feels grimy and unpolished. Nothing beautiful about it.

On the other hand, this building is beautiful and you should be happy it is being built 3 blocks away.

I'd rather buy some rowhouses in UES or UWS and combine them for 98 million, than a flat up there. This building is beautiful, but i would prefer the UES or UWS to life at.

I think we should assume that they will number it so 90 is the top floor. Maybe they will skip some floor numbers between the hotel and residences. Or maybe they will start the hotel at floor 20 (approx) instead of 6. A lot of buildings around here do that too - just start the numbering at an arbitrarily high number.

I think the "90th floor" penthouse will be floors 71-72 in Otie's diagram on page 87, and the "75th floor" penthouse will be floors 58-59 in the diagram. They are both listed as duplexes, which would make sense, and the lower one is quite a bit larger, again that makes sense. Also they are almost the right number of floors apart. Some creative numbering could make it happen.

"Not a single brick has been laid!" - That is technically true if the building is not being constructed of bricks.

"The penthouse price tags are lower than those selling at 15 Central Park West" - That is just incorrect. No penthouses are currently on the market at 15 CPW so none are "selling" now at all. The ones that did sell went for $11 mil to $45 mil. Not even close to the $98 mil ask of these units.
