What I want is a better view of one57!

I really appreciate the pictures, I just wish it was easier to get a good angle and I know it will once it emerges more from the small downtown buildings on Carnegie street.

thankyou for the pictures. this building is going to be the Landmark of Manhattan.
It is sooo amazing that 4 of the tallest buildings in NY are in almost the same block.
So close... and the funny thing is that even from Central Park you can not see the super tall Spire building. at least this building will be seen.

Those solid concrete walls seem to cover a number of floors. We see that in the pics of the 58th Street side. Also, they have occasional windows in them.

Anyone know what these solid walls are all about?

yeah, but its immediate neighbors are small.

It is not really standing out yet. Give it another ten stories. But construction does seem to be picking up speed again.

This tower with its wind screens and lots of wood used for supports is I think the most vulnerable to any high winds from the storm.

For those who don't know NY well, this photo by John Flint shows the proximity of the two 300m + towers that Extell is building on 57th St.

Nice, thanks!
OT: Just out of curiosity... What do they mean by that sign saying "Don't block the box"?
I don't want 2 points and a fine once again in NYC

It means that your vehicle can't be sitting in the middle of the intersection ("box") because you got caught at a red light.

It's a largely enforced law in a lot of cities. Many people I know have gotten fined for it.

The pics were from last weekend so this may have gained a floor since then.

Can't go down to see it today because ALL public transportation in NYC is shut down.

I'll see if they re-open tomorrow.
