Went by yesterday. Definitely moving up. And they were jumping the crane two levels at 6 pm on a Friday so they are working extra hours to speed this up :-)

Hopefully Dino will post the pics soon.

Thanks Dino for posting the pictures!!

It is too bad I didn't have a decent camera with me and also I couldn't stay to see the entire jump process. But what I did see was pretty interesting.

If you look closely you can see a boom sticking out from below the crane cabin. That is what they attach the new crane section to and then that aligns it with where it will go and pulls it in.

Also, after attaching the new section to the boom the crane itself picked up the big concrete block counterweight, I guess to properly balance the crane when it is being lifted up. I guess the hydrolics would be very sensitive to the normal disequilibrium.

Anyways, I was really impressed they were working so late on a Friday. They are flying with this now. By late October lots more passersby should be taking pictures of it and it will hopefully appear on Flikr. Actually, haven't been to Central Park in a while but it must be getting more visible from there too.

I doubt it has reached 100 meters. It still looks rather small

It's hard to guess the heights in New York since everything is so freaking tall..1WTC is good example..

I count 28 floors made in this building. And on the right side (facing the street 57) are 29 floors. So it seems... I can not wait for this building have a height of 200 meters, to be clearly visible from Central Park.
