I wanted to go to Central Park this weekend to see how it looked from there but I didn't get the chance. Hopefully this week I can do it. I bet it is easily visible - especially the crane. Probably any pics of Central Park South on Flickr will have it. I don't know how to search Flickr very well but I bet they'll show up soon.

hahaha, no, I won't bet. I think you are correct - I just wasn't sure how you knew it.

Sounds like a good guess though.

Only glass is shaped that way and packed that way at this stage of construction..Plus, it's right next to place where it should be installed..Can't be anything else..

It's really in a dense area. I just hope it'll be enough tall to make an impact on the skyline considering it's tall neighbours. The BOA Tower is nearly a supertall and second tallest in central Manhattan yet it is barely visible. From many angles one can see only it's spire. NYC is really a steel and concret jungle

We're finally getting to the point where it's going to visible now. The next couple months/year should be very exciting.

won't be a problem at all. It will be significantly taller than everything around it. So much so that I have always been surprised this building was allowed.

It really is shooting up now. Guess that financing they finally got has allowed them to go all out.

They just installed the 3rd crane brace a short time ago and now it looks like they will need another one soon

I think it will One57 will stand out. If anything, it will be the pinnacle arising from a see of tall buildings.

Consider the fact that BoA gets must of its height from a slim spire that is really only eye-catching at night. Consider also that its curtain wall height of 944 feet exists at one single point because it rises from a diagonal that begins at 866 feet on the eastern side and 893.5 feet on the southern side. Finally, consider the fact that the curtain wall at that height is nothing but glass with no building behind it.

I definitely see where your concern arises. However, One57 will be massive from bottom all the way to the top. I think it will have a more dramatic impact on the skyline that BoA. That's just my humble opinion.

The pace of construction is honestly slow. I am surprised to come back here, after months, to see the building hasn't changed a lot.

It was very slow during June, July and part of August, we believe due to financing reasons. But they got additional financing to complete the project about a month ago and it is flying since then. Check back in a month and you should see lots of changes.
