About corruption, people in WB are too frustated about the sorry states of affair here. We are more concerened about the developments rather than corruption which has plagued India as a whole. So, corruption, yes, has taken a backseat here. We badly need some good developments. If that comes by feeding some politician/party, so be it. For the time being, I don't have a problem here.
you can have preconceived ideas about many things that doesn't change the facts... the fact is hindmotor did goof up and caused state crores which is now back(i guess multi year payment).. similarly if there is any wrong doings here let the facts come out and state gets its money back..

development ignoring corruption is nothing but extreme crony capitalist mentality..there will be no development whatsoever if their is corruption.. u may be fan of skyscrapers ,so do I, but if we deny the basic foundation its matter of time when it crashes..no society is free of corruption but to openly support it for development is an unfair proposition...

Tai naki?? Such land scams in real estate are rampant all around India, dude. Haven't u heard of The DLF's illegal land transactions in Gurgaon / Noida belt all these years?? Even the recent one involving a close relative of Congress supremo is hot in the air. Or maybe u are not aware of the recent Adarsh Coperative society scam in Mumbai?? Just try to get a little knowledge about real estate land scams around India, then come & comment here. U will find Kolkata real estate market is much stable & cleaner than most other metro zones. Just one such project is under scanner in Kolkata & u are ashamed of the state. I sincerely doubt how many forumers here will be ashamed of the state knowing of this news. Rather I might be ashamed of the fact that people like u, who make such comments for any paltry reasons whatsoever, are actually from the state.
My dear friend........i am very well aware of the scams all over India. I dont need people to point me out. I just need you to understand that it was a knee-jerk reaction after I heard the news. If you find my comments objectionable i'll delete my post.
Yeah given the present conditions and the dismal business atmosphere in WB, any one who is keen to see this state develop is bound to make such knee-jerk reactions.
So, the fact is that such reactions are indicative of how desperate a person is to see something develop and prosper and certainly not to actually imply when he says he's ashamed of something.
I sincerely regret for what i have written and i hope you are matured enough to understand that.
Thank You

If there was a legal problem with the project, ideally it should have been noted before the project was granted permits. If a project is stalled after hundreds of home-buyers/investors have put in their money, it erodes confidence in the "system". Agreed, that the menace is not unique to Kolkata.

There lies the problem. The permits were granted by the LF Govt. in cohorts with the developer's group. the present Govt is initiating the process to retrieve the justifiable amount of money. It may happen that the entire process gets sidelined with a 200 cr 'chanda' to the ruling party fund. But whatever it is the project will be on track.

It is really hard to imagine a 65 acre parcel in EM Bypass area (where DLF, LIC, Emaar took land around that time at around 40-50 cr per acre via auctions), being given to them @ 23.5 crs!!! an undervalue of around 2500 crs. No doubt, the LF made the state bankrupt. No govt would like to lose out on that amount of cash.

I do understand, buddy. No hard feelings as such. Actually what I believe is that we should not be ashamed of WB, whatever be the circumstances; it is the ugly, worthless politicians of all genres & parties alike who should be ashamed of themselves for bringing the degradation in Bengal. WB, in spite of having a rich bouquet of natural & abstract resources, brains, talents & capabilities in all spheres, has been crippled by their f***ing politics & worst forms of governance. There hasn't been a leader since Dr. B C Roy, who actually fathered the dream of Modern Bengal. So, since the last 40-45 years, it is in a state of coma, from which it is trying to recover.

same here bro..........no hard feelings. I am extremely proud to be from a state which gave birth to modernism in India. We showed India her path to attain independence. Most of the luminaries of modern day India(post and pre independence) were born on our soil. The city of Kolkata is associated with 3 nobel laureates. In spite of that what bothers me is all these mother F*****ng politicians desperate to ruin our soil because of their vested interests. I am very very positive. Shob jinish kei kharap din dekhte hoy. Han, amrao ekhon dekhchi. Hoyto ektu beshi din dhorei dekhchi. But rater sheshe to din i ashe. We will lead India once again. Mark my words.

the best way out of this is to simply discount these substandard leaders and focus on what we can do as individuals. strengthen rural Bengal (without which urban Bengal will collapse), contribute to developing truly world class infrastructure in cities (recently mayor of Bogota said a developed country is not where all poor people can buy cars but all rich people choose to travel in public transportation), make small businesses competitive with the mightiest corporations, generate employment for all, and protect the environment.

off topic already!

23 levels finished in the tallest one.Great progress.I hope none of that controversy surrounding illegal shareholding "expose" done by the MB government has any effect on this project.
