Yes, Lima also has a few clean and "shiny" areas (not shown on the photos, except maybe the parts near the Javier Prado avenue) full of police, new buildings, big houses and cleaners. San Isidro, Surco, San Borja, la Punta, Miraflores, la Molina, parts of Jesus Maria and Magdalena as well... the thing is, they are a clear minority of the city (like in most cities I have been too in latin America) and when I seldom go there, I don't have my camera with me.

If someone wants to check them, just look at most Lima threads on SSC. This is what peruvian forumers like to show to the rest of the world...

All right got a few more photos on my hard drive that I had forgotten to post. Most of them were taken in the neighborhood I lived in for a while, they are a bit similar to some of the photos posted on page one. If people are not happy about them, they can go elsewhere...

- The view from where I lived

- bis

- Photo taken in the "Los Olivos" district in the north of the city. Known for representing the new "emerging middle class".

- This one was taken in the neighboring district of San Martin de Porres, anyone fancy a beer?

- An avenue in San Martin

- This one here is from the district I lived in

- It's rare to see finished houses. Taxes are lower when houses are still under construction so people never finish them . Also peruvians (but not only of course, this is very common in the Mediterranean countries and surely in many other places) tend to let their house under construction so when they get some money they build a new floor

-

-And here's how to pay less taxes

-

- I lived somewhere in there

- Not very far

- This is the entrance of a market, the photo was taken in the afternoon when it is closed. Since nobody is there it looks a bit sad but there are plenty of people when it is open.

- Building under construction

- Didn't notice the kid the day I took this photo
