Could you maybe space out the pictures? It's a little distracting when you combine that with the angles of them.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the US and has less pedestrian life than Newark, NJ, Berkeley, CA or Providence, RI. Cool photos of America's most zoning law free city.
Wish they hired some pedestrians to make it look lively.

Very stylish photos, I love the angles used! What's with the lady peeing in the woods?

Yeah, they should repair some of the sidewalks too...

This is one of my biggest problems with Houston. Many areas lack sidewalks in any form at all and the ones that do are a little wider than a meter and in horrible condition. In the few areas you do see pedestrians like my neighborhood, whenever you pass someone going the other direction, you almost have to walk on the street to pass them since the sidewalks are so narrow.

@philadweller - I usually try to focus more on the pedestrian areas of Houston (downtown and the medical center), but that's just a small part of Houston life. Houston, despite being pedestrian friendly in design also lacks a walking culture. 2 hours away in Austin, central Austin is only somewhat more dense, but you'll see many more people walking just about everywhere.

houston lacks density due to no zoning. they dont walk cause you cant, there arent any trains either. they only places that have a lot of foot traffic are montrose, which is real eclectic area, or downtown at night close to the weekend, when people are out clubbing. other than that you wont see people walking around.
