Where/What is this in Athens?

A thread for whenever you find a picture of somewhere/something in Athens and you need help to identify it from the experts. I'll start us off:

Quite an impressive neoclassical gem. Any idea where it is/what it is?

I dont know, but why is it half fresh-painted? Is it a composite photo of "before" and "after" repainting ? Or is it really in this state? It looks weird

I think the building is owned by more than one person. One guy pays to have his side restored, the other doesn't/ Shame it is a beautiful building.

Nice building! It must be in Greece for sure given the "beautiful" billboards on top of the building with the advertisement of the Ministry of Tourism.

lol, that didn't initially look like a billboard to me. It looked like a mural on the side wall of a neighboring building. But now I see the "Ministry of Tourism" in the lower right. My first instinct is to say that this is one of those grand but relatively unknown neoclassical buildings in the Panepistimiou/Akademias area, but the billboard suggests otherwise?

The building is situated in Piraeus and the other building is the ghost tower which usually hosts huge billboards.

Here's another view of the Bank next to the Piraeus tower with Billboard.

PS I think it looks better without the cleaning.

On that first photo, if you look at the last set of columns on the right hand side(our right), you can see it's still being painted. It looks like it they have applied partly the first coat on them. I'd say the painting wasn't finished when the photo was taken with certainty.

However it's worth of mention the fact that Piraeus has lots of architectural jewels both big and small, either showing off in central areas of this Athenian suburb or hidden in smaller streets. Next time you go to Piraeus just take a stroll around the place (away from the waterfront) and you will realize it's true.

The same happens in other areas like Petralona, Makrigiani, etc.

The problem is that lots of them are in need or immediate restoration; otherwise they would be more eye-catching (especially if well painted with lighter colors instead of derelict-gray).
