Semaphore Road at Berkeley (Wollongong) has stunning views across Dapto and Lake Illawarra

Lijman, did you take those photos roughly a month ago? I was driving along Jamberoo Mountain Road and noticed a car pulled over on the first s-bend section on the decent down the pass (very narrow, strange place to pull over). A bloke was taking photos on that bend, there are views from that point over Jamberoo Valley/Lake Illawarra - it may well have been you!

A bit OT with these pics, but I figure the world isn't only about the cities (and CBF'd starting a thread on "Little-known Regional Lookouts")...
Long Point Lookout is located east of the Southern Highlands village of Tallong and the views over the Shoalhaven River are pretty phrawrrr IMO. ![]() ![]() ![]() Needs more dinosaurs. |

Beautiful. How far from the Shoalhaven is this? I know the river goes as far as Braidwood, but this geography looks further inland. Never knew it was so massive.

Lady Robinsons Beach running along the western shore of Botany Bay from Kyeemagh to Sans Souci has some wonderful views of Sydney.

Melbourne (right) and Mount Dandenong (left) from a citybound V/Line train south of Diggers Rest, 30km north-west:
![]() The whole section of track from Diggers Rest to Watergardens has city views - park near the Calder Park Dr level crossing and you'd get a nice shot.

Haven't got any pictures, but there's a pretty cool lookout over the Sydney Airport runways at Sir Joseph Banks Park in Botany.
