do you people feel that chunggyechon might have been misuse of money? or even a waste? Lot of people I know say that Lee Myung Bak built an unneccessary site. Sure this looks nice but he didn't even plan the project to the full. There are problems such as smell from chunggyechon's underground system or something...

I don't think it was a waste of money. Sure it was a lot of money. But Central Seoul needed something like that...a place for citizens to rest and take a stroll. THe highway that used to stand there was just not good looking to the city and the surroundings were very "ghetto". Now, it is a lovely area in the middle of the city near Dongdaemun, a shopping paradise. I wish one day Seoul can create a plaza (other than the one in front of the city hall) like those that you see in European cities with fountains, monuments, artistic structures, etc

I agree. It's been a catalyst for urban renewal. I'm very excited about the Glostar Cheonggye Square project.

I can't wait Gwanghwamun plaza !

* Cheonggye-ro (former cheonggye stream area) was a dead hole like Hell. Now for the stream, city revived without doubt.

Gangnam is like manhattan filled with skyscrapers
only if those skyscrapers were all 200m+ it would've
been super!!! But I'm glad they're extending Teheran-ro
all the way to Banpo!! Hopefully some really fancy and
design-inspired 250m+ skyscrapers get build in that area!!

I thought the same, but along Teheran-ro, it seems not allowed to be high 200+ by regulation.. sad.
but currently, several projects are ongoing over 200+ at Samgseong-dong (near COEX), and Lotte town (near Samsung town at Gangnam station),.. I just hope it'd keep going well.
