the only reason liberals would change leaders is if liberals took a serious nose dive in the polls. Hard to see that happening from here. They are riding high at the moment so they would be fools to change leaders.

Doesn't help when the average cretin thinks decriminalisation will mean skag will become available from every 7/11 and the streets will be filled with the living dead.

Well. At least you prove that to be true.

One of the biggest turn off's of Labor isn't about personality it's about policy. A majority of population doesn't want a Carbon Tax. If Malcolm Turnbull was Liberal leader he believes the same crap......so what would be the point in that ?
I don't know why so many people are so vocal about Tony Abbott ? He is just an opposition leader. He has no power in running the country. The Government with independants and Greens can pass and have passed any legislation they want.
I remember a number of Opposition leaders everyone thought wouldn't do a good job leading a Government yet ened up having long term Government.....People like Kennett and Howard. Yes anyone who is one eyed Labor couldn't see they did a good job but just compare their time to the present Government...couldn't be worse.
I expect Liberal-Coalition to win the next federal election...see what they do then as in a democracy, Kick them out next time if they are no good.
I have voted everything over the years and feel the same right now.....We have to have a change of Government before the country is wrecked beyond repair.

[QUOTE=Bullswool;90106478]Maybe closer to the election. We still have a while to go now. I'm sure the disapproval with Abbott is in the back of many Liberal party minds.[/Q

The only people who like/agree with Turnbull are Green/Labor supporters who are not going to vote for him or his party anyway. Turnbull had his chance as leader and the TPP was about Labor 60, Coalition 40. Conservative voters made up much of the 60%. Polls quickly swung the other way once Abbott was installed. They have remained high- about 57-43 TPP and this will continue until the rout that will come at the next election You can say what you like about the Coalition but only a fool would vote Labor/ Green at the next election. What a corrupt and incompetent rabble this government is!

The party % might have swung, but Abbott's approval is worse than Gillard's. And that is saying something.

It has emerged that Tony Abbott's sister is a lesbian. Yet another high profile homophobe, like Katter and Cardinal Pell, with a gay/lesbian person in the family.

Perhaps it's time for Tony to become a hypocrite and support his sister 100%.

I don't think Abbott is a homophobe and probably accepts his sisters lesbian relationship it's just that he doesn't accept Gay marriage and I think many Gay people think that way as well.........Personally I don't care.

Nobody is going to be glad they're beign discriminated against. Your point is really that for "many" gay people it's not a big issue, or an issue they are interested in, or a vote swinging issue. I don't know that that is true.

I had to at Abbott trying to pretend he is politically centrist.

"She's more politically centrist than I am but she's no bleeding heart lefty either."

Abbott is about as far from the centre as Ayatollah Khomeini. That's the danger of choosing a leader too far to the extreme and the reason Abbott alienates so many millions of people to the left of George Pell.

I am constantly amazed by the literal accuracy of your posts. You should be a journalist for the Age...or are you already ?
