The warehouse two streets to the right of the Stanley Tobacco Warehouse in this image was the location of a well known Bob Dylan photograph - Children on the Steps:
![]() The Story Behind the Bob Dylan Liverpool Photograph - Children on Steps. • The photograph was taken by Barry Feinstein in Dublin Street, Liverpool, which is two streets away from the Stanley Tobacco Warehouse. • The street is so quiet because the photograph was taken on 14th May 1966 - Cup Final day, when Everton beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2. • Dylan’s gradual move from folk to rock and roll was inspired by the Beatles (whom Dylan “secretly dug") and the Byrds (whose electrified folk-rock arrangement of Dylan’s then-unreleased “Mr. Tambourine Man” eventually went to Number One in June 1965). http://www.rockhall.com/inductee/bob-dylan Here's the Story Behind the Photograph:

Me too, I'm a sucker for a steam train. Normally that line only takes coal trains to the power station, see below.

I LOVE Shrewsbury! A beautiful town, 'away from it all' & a true gem of an English town! Forget Chester & Stratford, Shrewsbury is truly lovely

Hush Telfordboy or I'll let the good forumers of SSC know how far away from the centre of Telford your steam train "waterway" pics actually are...

(sorry couldn't resist)
Quote:
That waterway is nowhere near the centre of Telford! I've measured it from the Telford train station: ![]() Let's compare to Shrewsbury in comparison: ![]() You have to walk an incredible seventy times further to get to Telford's nearest waterway than you would have to walk from the centre of Shrewsbury to it's waterway. Telfordboy, you are hereby disqualified from talk of waterways
