Photochromes of N&B

Photochrome journey through N&B in 1890
Found these postcard pictures (photochrom) taken in 1890 interesting enough to make a thread about it. Most photos is from Norway. They were taken
by American tourists in 1890-1900 and have been published by The Library of Congress in Washington DC. The photos is colored but looks like a
drawning or a painting since they didn't exactly take the photos with a dslr!

Published primarily from the 1890s to 1910s, these prints were created by the Photoglob Company in Zürich, Switzerland, and the Detroit Publishing
Company in Michigan. The richly colored images look like photographs but are actually ink-based photolithographs, usually 6.5 x 9 inches.

Awesome pictures(?) Stockholm and Copenhagen looks soo much grander than Oslo. But no surprise there really.

Continue replying, i hope to get the last part in this remarkable collection the next page since i think there is enough pics on this page for now!

Too bad i could't find any more pics of Sweden and Denmark, seems like these photographers loved Norway the most!

This requires a certain level of trust in the standard builder, that I just do not have...

As for Copenhagen, it looked pretty much like itself...

/\ Unfortunately not. it was only built for the world exhibition and was torn directly after. That is if my memory is correct.

too bad, looks unique! Though i guess it was a crappy structure since it was torn down directly after, wouldn't survive till today anyway.

btw, cphdude: just posting the image link do just fine in replies i think, saves some time loading for those who have less than 10m/bit broadband lines!

How small it was back then, I love that city!

And about the Stockholm exhibition, they had even built up the castle "tre Kronor".

That Stockholm picture is awesome - a shame it doesn't exist any more
