Agreed. Stadium cost begins to grow exponentially somewhere around 50K, so, if they decides to build more than 60K, they would have to risk much larger cost, especially if they want 70K for CL final, it would almost cost double than 50K.

Are you sure about 50k? I think I read previous discussions here on SSC stating 65k as the "tipping point".

Of course not. It's just my feelings which don't have any logical backgrounds That's just the way I feel for stadium costs

Anyone realized that this thread started more than three jears ago? Since then, they postponed and changed this project several times - and why? Mainly for finacial reasons!! And now you think it's something like a white elephant because it is too small?

Let's build it like that, let's apply for the final of the UEFA Europa League every year, let's hope that it sees a capaticy crowd at least three-four times a year when the national team or the domestic cup final comes by. And let's hope that there are some concerts too big for globen that justify the enormous costs for this retractable roof.
Or we wait until the birth of the G14 league series.

Spring 2009. When the land has been sanitized from its previous industrial use. Finished in 2012.

Who knows?
Anyway, since this stadium will not have a regular tenant (not as long as Råsunda exist), there is not a big hurry to start (and finish) it IMO.

The project is endagered since the arena builders are not getting along with AIK, the biggest club in Sweden who are supposed to be regular tenants.

AIK has said that they are considering buying the old Råsunda, which the new stadium is supposed to replace.

Really????? AIK is considering buying the old stadium?????????????????????? Why? Are they thinking of building a new stadium in place of the old one???? Anyway that would be a big disappointment if the article turns out to be true...

:O have u ever seen a swedish football match??

excelent in my opinion if they buy old råsunda, and hopefully renovate it by removing some stands and stuff......

The new swedbank is to large, to much a "souless-bowl" and 3 tiers.....
And for the spice at the top:
The roof! this is football not hockey!!!!!
