Sweet stadium! Does anybody know the height of the highest row of seats from the pitch level? I really wanted to make some comparisons...

I've read the roof is about 35m, so the stands might be around 25-30 maybe? Can't find any official facts about it, though.

Btw, should be rename the thread "STOCKHOLM - Friends Arena" instead? I know it's not 100% accurate, but it's what every newspaper writes and how everyone refers to it. And since Solna is a municipality in Stockholm County, it isn't totally inaccurate to say so. No one knows what Solna is, tbh.

The infrastructure around the arena will continue be a mess...the coming three years. When Mall of Scandinavia opens in three years, it will offer 5000 parking lots. However, it will never be recommended to go by car to the arena.

I for one thinks its good that it gets a bit crammed taking your car to the arena, it promotes public transport! Just a shame that its fairly far to the tube! commuter trains and trams just isnt the same as the tube...

Thing is that public is almost as shit and will stay that way until 2015 when everything is complete.

That's the problem with Friends. The arena will attract people who prefer to eat popcorn instead of clapping hands and people who would never ever go to see a football game if it was raining or was cold. That is not the real football supporters that we need.

Problem? I live in Stocholm area and will watch many games next year, when there will be tickets available on match days. England game was, and coming match against Argentina in February will be sold out, if it isn`t already.
So new arena will attract more spectators, not a bad thing. I have not visited too many Allsvenskan games in last 10 years, but now i will be back!
Same goes later for Tele2 Arena too, when it will open.

I have seen my share of matches in cold and rain since 60`s when i began to watch football.

I promise, i will not eat popcorn, but clap my hands, and make shouting noises, every time something exciting happens in a game! There will be many kind of new spectators, not only of that sort you seem to be afraid of!

To start with it was 35.000 people but I believe that they opened up a few sections of the upper stands afterwards.

Yeah, I think they almost reached 40k in the 3rd concert. But around 35k on those pics above!

The Friends Arena could maybe become host to one or a few games of the European Football Championship in 2020, if the plans for a Europe - wide tournament turns true.
