It's a PRIVATE building. Do you let people wander in and out of your house? If they choose to restrict entrance to the property, it is entirely their prerrogative.

From yesterday, the tower is now as tall as the building on the left.

And an overhead webcam shot from about two days ago

You people always take my photos from SSP and use them on here without asking me. That would be great if you just let me know when you use my photos. Thanks

Thanks John, Here's two pics from the webcam. You can see that the building is taking its shape.

Awesome tower. It will add a lot to Houston skyline.
Good to see its rising, against crisis!

Defending johnme's comment, it did sound weird when he mentioned this should be open to the public; it sounded like just anyone should be allowed to wonder in ad out of the upper floor garden. Although, it is different if there is a price included in access. in this case, i am with johnme.

If anyone was willing to pay me $5 to wonder around a cut off area in the backyard of my house i would jump at the opportunity. Especially if family's and couples would use it on a nice Sunday or something; it would be a positive addition to the community.

On a lighter note,
great news for the downtown area of Houston!
I used to travel there every summer because my mothers family is from there, it's a great city.

Pics from May 09

This building is very hard to get pictures of because of all the towers surrounding the site.

I dont think he was questioning the fact if the building is private or not.....many private buildings reserve certain special areas for the public (observatories, atrium, etc) ....

PS> I agree it would have been nice to have access to the sky gardens and atrium

It's a lot of fun to see the progress being made on the construction of a tall building. This one is very nice indeed.

Can anyone tell us what floor they are up to yet? From some of the photos it looks like 10, 12 or ?
