No, believe it or not that doesnt include MP. They have a 40 and 2, 30+ towers which gives them 100 off the bat. If it included MP it would be up in the 300's or 400's

Give it a whirl.

Same thing with Tulsa. I wanted to leave room for natives of different cities to do the adding if they wanted. It's fun.

What three buildings in the metro are considered high-rises by Emporis? I can't think of any.

Looks like Columbia currently has a total of 39 points, with more on the way.

Charlotte 782 When Wachovia and Vue are completed.
Charlotte 1232 if 210, One Charotte, and Trump were ever done
Charlotte without the two 50 story towers Vue (51) and Wachovia (54 total)... 582 :-(

Not sure about the scaling for different floors... some cities will inevitably have a ton of 29s or 19s or 11s. You really need a different scaling system for small to mid-size cities since the aesthetic impact of these buildings is more noticeable, and they're not just massing for a big city.

Yea, I don't know about going by floors. OKC's new Devon Tower (which I didn't count towards OKC's total, don't worry) is only 54 floors, yet 925 feet and worth only 100 points under this system. Tulsa's Cityplex Tower I is 60 floors exactly, yet only 648 feet (and only the 2nd tallest bldg in Tulsa) and still worth 200 points under this system. I just thought I'd point that out. Having the 4 tallest bldgs in Oklahoma is a big reason why Tulsa has 503 points, yet OKC has only 189. Still, I would think OKC and Tulsa's skylines are equally impressive.

Updated my rankings on the 2nd page (1st post).

I know this doesn't sound fair, but according to Emporis, Asheville only gets 5 points so far. The skyline is more impressive than that! Spartanburg only has 3 points.

Tallahassee, Florida comes in at 11 points so far.

Using the SRG approach of using every building in the metro and not just the CBD, Nashville has 247.

You mean there are towns outside Nashville that have high-rises? Ooooooh. And btw that's not the "SRG approach."

I only did that for Miami because the city of Miami is the size of a suburban subdivision in Dallas..arguably, it was the right thing to do. It's not like I added buildings in Edmond and Norman to OKC's count, or buildings in The Woodlands or Sugar Land to Houston's count.

Just as a reference, since I was bored (I do know my geography and know that Indy is not SE) Indianapolis comes in with 324 points

The Edison, Charter Square, the Hillsborough, Powerhouse Plaza, Lafayette, and the Lightner Center would add another 80 points to Raleigh once finished. Some of these projects will be delayed or scaled back though.

That's still only 165. Even if we double the skyline we'd be nipping at the heels of Oklahoma City and Louisville. Inevitably, those cities will have their own projects that keep them well ahead.

Could be worse though. Poor Greensboro...

The reason they go by floor count and not the height of the tower is because so many towers, especially in the early skyscraper years dont have an official height. And absent giving really long tape measures to window washers we probably will never really know their official heights.

Its not a perfect system but remember its just for fun. If you have a ton of 11 story buildings mention that. If you have ten 29 story buildings mention that as well. Anything that will help us understand why your city scored where it did.

What would the Austin number be if you included all the towers going up now? Or should I say when they are completed. They have several going up right now including a near 700 footer.

Austin is going to jump up there quite a bit. So will most of the Florida cities
