Aegon Louisville: 34 floors = 34 points

Only include buildings within the city proper. No metro buildings that are outside the city proper. If you'd like you can include the metro buildings in a seperate score and post that alongside the score for the city.

Ready set GO!
Just an idea: Why not add only the floors starting at the 10th floor and going upward? Anything lower, even if it is part of a high-rise really isn't necessary, in my opinion.

I like the Emporis method, but I think you would almost have to count some buildings under construction. The Wachovia tower and Catalyst condo tower in Charlotte are a few examples. These two towers are not officially complete, but they are standing.
Wachovia

Catalyst condo is standing just to the left of Wachovia.

Photos taken by poster KB0679.

Both of these towers are not included in Charlotte's score of 582. Catalyst stands at 27 floors and Wachovia is currently at it's 50th floor (6 floors to go).

These standing towers would give Charlotte an Emporis score of 687.

Actually Wachovia is at its 45th floor, with 9 floors to go. 4 floors on the short side, and 9 on the tall side.

It is hard to count, but I think you are right. The top floor does appear to be the 45th. I guess that would technically give Charlotte a score of about 637 instead of 687. This is still a fun thread either way!!!

That's the fun part though.

When the towers are complete we can update our scores and watch the rankings change over time! Of course we can always change the rules again if enough people think thats what we should do. I'm open to suggestions.

I'm glad you think it's fun. I do too!

Agreed, there are still too many surface lots for my liking....the city I moved from though is even worse, and that was Columbus, OH.

I would say they are two seperate but i dont know if they are ranked together. If you're familiar with Tampa Give the number a look and see if it sounds too high, if so St. Pete is probably included.

If we are including buildings that are not finished, but have been topped out, Spring (43 floors) should be included for Austin. Four Seasons Residences (32 floors) will be by the end of the month. Have you included Ashton (36 floors) and Legacy (31 floors)? They have been topped out for some time.

Austonian will top out later this year, and at 56 floors will give Austin another nice boost to it's total.

I see Mobile `s rating at 291 that is a bit low if they are considering building floor counts in the city on Emporis.com. If so the numbeer for Mobile would be 663 not 291 and to include the new Hilton hotel down town which has 12 floors I believe it should be 675. Not dising other cities but I just knew that cities like Baton Rouge, Chattanooga, and Knoxville couldn`t have been ranked higher becasue Mobile has a bigger sky line and a more dense downtown than those other cities.

Birmingham should be ranked in 1000`s as well not in the 500 `s
