Panorama Problems
The actual size of this image is 13298x1935 pixels with a file size of 13.3mb. It's resolution is currently 71 pixels per inch.
The problem I have is photobucket will only let me host it at the size below and imageshack won't let me upload anything over 1.5mb. Is there a way of reducing the file size by at least 90% but still keep the size/quality of the picture?: ![]() I've managed to get the image below to just under 1mb by shrinking it to 3000x439 with 1 pixel per inch resolution... but it's far too small!:

You could save it as a gif.
Or spilt the picture into 2 smaller pictures, upload them and post them together. |

Thanks I'll give it a try!
Turning it into a .gif only reduces the file size by 2mb. Splitting it into seperate images defies the object of a panorama and splitting it is harder than it sounds! The cuts are pretty obvious - there must be an easier way of producing a large panorama for forums. ![]() ![]() ![]()

If you sign up to Flickr then you should be able to host it in its original size.
You will have to subscribe as a "pro" though, but its only about £15 for a year. |

Thanks hollowman, but I'm not keen on paying £15
![]() I'll just split up the panorama into a few images and post them next to each other - when it works it looks just as good. |

I had a similar problem, however I uploaded these two panoramic images (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...s_Panorama.jpg - 7.75MB and http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...norama_(2).jpg - 20.67MB) using wikimedia commons simply because of the 100MB upload limit.
