I'm with Hunnybee on this one. At least I'm know to stick around the South African section, but never know where the latest comments were.

On the topic of cricket. How about the stand in captain? Johan Botha has been brilliant in his role both as player and as captain. Well done to him.

latest comments should be in blue highlight for the thread title, and new posts since your last login will have a yellow "post it" kinda thing next to the time posted.

Also go to the bottom of the main SA forum page and select the display options you would prefer

Must just add firefly I did not like Graham Smith as captain, found he had such attitude. But he has moulded into the rank of Captain. Speaks well and I missed him when he was not playing.
Johan Botha I just cant like him, just a personal opinion

I really have enjoyed venturing around the forum today. The write up on Port Elizabeth brought back such lovely memories. We used to haul our caravan year after year to the Summerstrand Caravan Park. Think it took 13 hours from Sandton to PE. Our children now camp with their little ones.I do the odd camping but dont venture too far anymore

Well I did something brave today!!!!!! I ventured into the Australian home(forum). very pleasant, but hit a panic button when i could not find my way home again. BUt grabbed the map book and ran like hell. Very pleasant convo, then ofcourse It was New Zealand versus Australia. Sure we will be very complimentary when Australia and the proteas meet on the 26th February. I have to agree with the one comment. "WHy the game was played". One forumite reckons money.
I did though enjoy the awesome batting performance of Guptil and taylor,
When Taylor went out Guptil just carried on. Unfortunately the rain came pelting down and the game was drawn. So near yet so far- they only had 30 odd runs to get.

Just checked on cricinfo. you are right Matt Prior was born in Joburg.

The number of zimbos and saffas playing in England is not an indictment of the English game as 2 out of the 3 saffas in the current England team were educated in England. But it is a sad illistration of the fact that hundreds of thousands of talented people leave our shores every year because the do not feel they have a future under the African sun. Thats the real tragedy of it all.
