Truth be told, barring Terminal 3, Changi doesn't really have an impressive exterior.

They said there were some 24,994 aircraft takeoffs and landings at the airport in the month, a 12.8 per cent increase from a year ago.

Besides, passenger traffic increased more than 11.3 per cent to 3.77 million.

Southeast Asia traffic registered the strongest year-on-year growth of 17.7 per cent, followed by traffic to Southwest Pacific 14.4 per cent.

Traffic to Northeast Asia grew 6.8 per cent despite declines of 11.4 per cent and 9.2 per cent for passenger movements between Singapore and Tokyo and Japan respectively.

Low cost carriers (LCCs) continued to expand rapidly during the month, with passenger traffic growing 24.6 per cent compared to a year ago and accounting for 28 per cent of Changi''s total passenger movement. Full service carriers grew 7.3 per cent in terms of passenger movements.

On the cargo front, airfreight movements in May totalled 157,286 tonnes, an increase of 2.7 per cent. For the Jan-May period, cargo movements were up 3.5 per cent to 754,517 tonnes.

Changi Airport authorities said it was serving 100 airlines operating over 5,700 weekly scheduled flights to more than 200 cities in some 60 countries and territories.

TAIWANESE carrier TransAsia Airways will begin its daily Singapore-Taipei service on Thursday.

TransAsia Airways will operate the A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration from Changi Airport Terminal 2 and depart from Singapore at 7.20am.

Passenger traffic between Singapore and Taipei has been growing steadily, with 835,000 passenger movements in 2010, a 21.2 per cent rise from 2009.

In the first five months of 2011, there were 385,000 passenger movements.

TransAsia Airways joins five other carriers that currently operate flights between Singapore and Taipei. It brings the weekly number of flights between the two cities to 60.

I always like Singapore Changi airport. You have nice food in the terminals and you always feel easy and unhurried when you doing your transit here.

Changi has changed a lot since I last went there. A beauty of an airport deserving of all its accolades. All these pics are making me miss Singapore!

i will be there 3 hrs earlier that my flight. for what ? relax.... it will be good if there is a cinema !!! haha...
