I agree, pretty badly designed & arrivals ain't any better. They have 20+ immigration counts setup for Thai passport holders & 2 for foreigners.

Where to start unpleasant smell, dark, cold feel with all the exposed concrete & lack of seating areas to relax. Only place to find seating is at the cafes / restaurants if you lucky to find a seat.

Totally agreed! That's why SIN was voted número uno

If you have to use the toilet at BKK the best one is the cotto showcase toilet in airside. It's built to advertise their products, probably the nicest airport toilet in existence.

When the new KUL open in 1998, it briefly overtook SIN. It was better outside and inside.
While at the same period, SIN only consist of 2 terminals. And terminal 1 itself already shown some sign of aging.

But Changi has since overtook KUL and now on the top of the list of the best airport.

Think HK also win changi awhile after their completion in late 90s.

I remember I was there not long after the opening and was impressed with the modern structure, beautiful landing and nice new carpet

Like I said, if judging certain particular aspects, other airports are better than SIN, but only in those certain particular aspects. But overall, SIN still is the best airport.

Nah ever since completion of T3 and renovation of T1, changi became the world best.

Especially in their efforts in improving their services. Anyone who work in changi airport EVEN police, aetos, etc has to undergo customer service workshops

What kind or works are going on in the background? A large open space seems to have been cleared.

It's not T5, I can tell you that much. A much larger space is being cleared for that, out of shot.

Will Etihad do a bacon sandwich for that price? I didn't think so.

tullamarine I don't think Etihad (or Emirates for that matter) will do a bacon sandwich at any price!!! Qantas customers on Sydney/Melbourne-London lost bacon from the breakfast menu following the Emirates alliance.

BaconButty I finally understand the true horrors of globalization.

Yup, it is not T5.

It is to become a sort of plant nursery.

Isn't T5 to be constructed on the land which is currently occupied by the military? The area directly behind T4 definitely way to small to construct a Terminal.

Very similar concept to ATL's & DFW's.
