Terazije were heavily bombed in 1941 by Germans, so I guess although that building wasn't directly hit by bombs, bomb clusters made those holes on the facade. It means that the facade wasn't revitalizated since the WW2 ( almost 70 years

).

Thank you. I suppose it could also be from the street fighting in October 1944. I remember seeing a whole bunch of old pre-war buildings in Zemun that have been pockmarked from the aerial bombing in WWII. Nothing new really in this corner of Europe.

Today I had some bussiness in the downtown and I took my camera with me. Unfortunately I forgot that I was playing with some settings so the colours on some pics might be weird .

I e-mailed the link to this thread to a professor of mine who teaches Cultural Geography. He's traveled all around the world but has never been to Belgrade...and he told me that the thread convinced him to visit

Blocks 61-62-63 seen from Bezanijska Kosa ( this lonely 18th century church is almost everything left from Bezanija village )

yeah I know it looks scary

these weren't left with beton brut facade

ok, maybe you prefer these ones, it's block 70

this one was taken during a boat ride across sava to the ada Ciganlija island

on the other riverside, across you can see the block 70a

and the "toplana" ( heat plant, makes us warm during the winter)

some other commies and the Usce tower behind the greenery
