I'm Chinese, born in China, and I just spent the past 6 months in China. Obviously I'm not talking about Beijing or Shanghai when I say NK looks like China, but it does look a lot like many of the smaller cities/towns, with a little less street life.

China is a diverse county, almost a continent of itself. I suppose some of the NK pictures must look a lot like a rural place in China.

Talk about the ardous march!

These interesting pictures from North Korea again demonstrate the remarkable resilience & endurance of human beings under some of the most trying circumstances imaginable.

Current South Korean government offered a plan to bring the North Korean GDP per capita up to $3000 if they opens doors to the South and the world. However, it seems that they'd rather keep the country closed than doing so because all they actually want is to make sure the Kim Jung Ill's throne is safe from hands of justices and help, which will eventually awaken North Korean people. AND, they get along with China which actually never care about North Korean people suffering from hunger or their economy(as the Kim Jung Ill does) but to keep it (N.Korea "province") a stupid waste land as a buffer zone between China and S.Korea, Japan. (and the U.S. and U.N.)
no way, it's poor because usa and its minions block nk,
china have to taken care alot more poor ppl like me

I just viewed the photos in the first page, everything is so dull in colour and design (not blaming them) there are no red or blue or yellow colours in that country. Hairstyle is just simple, even the people walking around in posh part of Pyongyang are like south Koreans in the 70s. The propaganda are just same as 100 years ago I guess...

Poverty stricken North Korea looks like Korea in 1945. Dear leader, please die.

Thanks for posting the pics.
You can see that the most people are malnurished.
But if the road system seems to be in better condition than in more emerged countries, which can be a good thing if they would start reforms.

Boston.com has put up an impressive gallery of photos looking into North Korea from the Chinese side of the Yalu river.

So is Hyundai rebranding their cars and selling them there?
image hosted on flickr

and this photo seems to show the building being cladded; will it be another concrete shell? Cos I hightly doubt the structure is safe enough for use..
