Heritage tram lines
Hello, this post is specifically dedicated to heritage tram lines. Meaning that we would like to see here only dedicated historical tram lines and old material running on them. They are probably museum lines running specific material.
Apparently, such lines exist a little bit all over the world, lets make a directory here. We can start with the tram of Han-sur-Lesse in Belgium and a beautiful dedicated website in several languages: http://www.tramdehan.net/pagenerale.htm ![]() Another one is the TTA also in Belgium: http://www.tta.be/?page=galerie ![]() They have also a steam tram locomotive.

In the Uk, I can mention one.. that is not exactly Heritage... but looks like. It is the Wirral Line, from Woodside to The Transport Museum.
Sorry.. I haven't got pictures, but you can access them in the link provided.

About 80% of Lisbon's trams! Probably the best example, and still in regular service.
Porto has some lines as well, but they're mainly used for touristic services.

There is also the National Tram Museum in Crich where people can actually learn to drive trams and all. They do have a few, and it is an excellent day out. I really recommend it if you are in the area (Derbyshire)... If not, a day trip is always worth it too.
Please check opening dates, as I belive it is closed during wintertime.

Christchurch, New Zealand
Christchurch, like most cities of the world had a proper tram network. There's was set up in 1905, but like much of the English speaking world, it was demolished in the 1950's. Since 1995, the city has opened a tourist heritage line that runs through the city center. image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr

Auckland, New Zealand
Auckland also had an extensive tram network between 1902 and 1956. The only existing tram line is a short heritage line that runs between two MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) Sites in the suburbs and passes by the zoo and Western Springs Park. It runs adjacent to public streets. image hosted on flickr

Istanbul, Turkey.
Istanbul lost most of it's trams in the 1960's I believe, and although a new modern network has since started up again, there are still two heritage lines in the city. One on the Eastern side, the other in the Western. The Western (European) heritage is probably the most well known and runs down the main shopping street. image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() The Eastern (Asian) side has this heritage line.

Barcelona, Spain
Once sporting a large commuter tram network, Barcelona closed most of it down and left one heritage line. There are two new modern networks now open as well and growing, but the heritage Tramvia Blau has been operating for quite a while. It has the added feature of transporting passengers to the funicular which takes them to the top of a local mountain outside the suburbs. image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() Also available in red ![]() image hosted on flickr

Soller, Mallorca, Spain
From Palma Mallorca, the main city you can get a heritage train on an amazing journey across the island over mountains and through tunnels to Soller on the other side. Once there, you catch a Heritage tram which runs between Soller and Port Soller. Well worth the journey if ever on this fantastic Spanish island. image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() image hosted on flickr

Excellent to see those bequtiful old trams. In NewZealand, the style is very interesting, in Spain, it reminds me SanFrancisco Cable-car somehow. In Istanbul, tram is so narrow... So many different standards so far...

Here is the historic tram of Riga that runs through the city on regular base.
It often goes from Center to Zoo, beautiful line full of beautiful houses, parcs and trees.

Those Christchurch trams were originally from Melbourne, Australia. Some of them are still in regular service.
