And here is the minaret. Seems to have been stuck in this stage of construction for some time now. Looks to me to have been modeled on one of the Makkah minarets. When I first heard of them adding a minaret to Baitul Mukarram I was worried that it might spoil the modern look of the mosque but this looks OK to me.

And finally, something nice and shiny right across the road (Mirza, I forget which tower is that right next to Surma?):
