No one even brought up the topic of racism until Qatar Son 333 claimed that if the WC or OG bids were not won it would only be because of racism.

What everyone has been trying to say with absolutely no comprehension from the Qatari bid supporters on here, is that there are very solid reasons why the WC bid does not have what it takes to hold the event on its own. Size, number of cities, infrastructure requirements. This is going on past FIFA precident. People mention a joint bid with UAE for example and its not even addressed by the Qatari supporters in here. That would be a bid that would have stronger chances and address many of the concerns raised in here.

Please look at all the things stated and just why people are making the points they are. There are reasons for what is being said and these points must be addressed if replying to concerns that people are raising. Bringing in racism and other unrelated topics really does not help anyone.

they are wish, we are waiting 2 dec not only the Qataris All people in Middle East, Arab world & Islamic world. let me quote what said Fifa president Sepp Blatter (( "Qatar could become the first Arab nation to host a World Cup in 2022" , ''The Arab world deserves the World Cup and Qatar has a good chance to become the first country from the region to host it'' )).

Sports Minister Kate Ellis (("AUSTRALIA'S chances of hosting the soccer World Cup are still alive despite the head of FIFA backing Qatar for 2022, according to the federal government."))

''We have made clear from the outset that this is a very, very big challenge and that this will be hard-fought,'' Ms Ellis said

best wishes

Christ, if this has to be explained again...

1. Blatter said the arab world deserved a world cup, not that they deserved this world cup. Which basically amounts to saying that sometime in the future of the event it should go there.

2. Its not up to Blatter anyway.

3. Kate Ellis is making the challenge look larger than it necessarily is, to avoid the blame should we lose. 'We did our best, but it was always a long shot,' would sound better to a sour public than 'we were one of the favourites but we screwed up.'

It is indeed very clear what he said, and it's not what you have chosen to put in quotation marks. What he actually said was:

"The Arab world deserves the World Cup and Qatar has a good chance to become the first country from the region to host it"

In other words, Qatar has a good chance at some point in the future. At no point did he say "2022". Warm, diplomatic words, but nothing which you should get too excited about. The 2022 bid has a chance according to FIFA's top man (who, incidentally, doesn't vote unless there is a tie). That is quite clearly not the same as saying Blatter supports Qatar 2022, whichever way you want to spin it.

he said it here when he was in Qatar 2 weeks ago on media and this wasnt first time Blatter courting Qatar file he did this before and these comments encouraged many others to support Qatar such as Brasil the best country in football and one of 24 fifa executive committee members.

Your new found 'mate', Mr Blatter, has since admitted that he says that to all cities. He has said the same to Australia, the US, European bids. Its all about dimplomacy. Its good that you get so easily excited by such things, but those who know any bidding process would know that its not how it appears on the surface.

The one thing that I am seeing in here s that the same 2 members of this forum continue to try and harp on about every point away from those already raised. The points are clear why it shouldn't win. Whether it will due to 'other' reasons, who knows. Maybe the England FA president was talking about the wrong country to look out for lol

Once again, the Arab world may deserve a chance at a WC, but it needs to be a joint bid if Qatar has a chance of getting the event. Will not happen I know as everything in the Gulf is a competition in excess and pride, but it would be a lot stroner of a bid. Think of a UAE/Qatar bid, with Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and the other major cities of the Emirates and maybe another city in Qatar. That would be a well rounded bid, with infrastructure (transport and airport gateways) and other key criteria covered, also giving a real football legacy to 2 countries, and bringing a sense of unity to the region, with co-operation the key.

The facade of your ribbon stadium is a rip-off of Warsaw's national stadium facade.

Best Fifa denial last week: Sepp, rejecting claims he publicly backed Qatar as 2022 hosts ("I strongly feel the World Cup should come to Qatar!") only after Qatari Fifa executive Mohammed Bin Hammam agreed not to run against him in the Fifa elections. Sepp: "Of course what I said did not mean I back Qatar. I have told all the bidding nations 'Your candidacy is good!' I do that in every country. I have most certainly not made any sort of deal with Qatar. How could I? As president of Fifa I would never misuse my office."
I hope this can go away now.

The school band strikes up a tune to begin the ceremony.

A procession of flag-bearing students welcomes attendees.

The school chorus wrote a song in support of the bid.
