The issue, if there is one, is what goes on outside the stadiums when fans aren't at games.
No alcohol at FIFA santioned games? Didn't know that, rather lame to be honest.

The stadiums for the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be strategically located around Qatar. Many of them are intended to serve as a lasting legacy to the local communities after the World Cup.

The Khalifa International Stadium, situated at the heart of the sprawling ASPIRE Zone which also consists of the prestigious ASPIRE Academy and ultra-modern orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital ASPETAR, will be transformed into a 70,000-seat stadium, that will personify Qatar's unique blend of tradition and modernity.

The new National Stadium in Lusail, planned as the venue for the World Cup's final, will become an international celebration of football architecture, seating 86,000 spectators and epitomising the grand plans which Qatar has for the event.
The venue is set among host of facilities that will enable the fans to enjoy themselves in the build-up to the tournament, including the Losail Intenational Circuit, Losail Entertainment Centre as well as a sparkling waterfront.

All of Qatar's proposed 12 stadiums will be situated strategically close to major landmarks in the country, showcasing the country;s Arabian heritage and timeless beauty to visiting fans and players alike.
The stunning backdrops of the stadiums, which Qatar has planned, including the iconic Education City Complex as well as Doha Port near the Old Souq. Additional Stadiums are being planned at Al Khor, Al Wakra and Al Shamal.

Plans are also on to use these facilities for football development activities for boys and girls.

The Doha Port stadium will be visible from afar at night, giving the illusion of floating out at the sea and making for spectacular television images from the air, to be beamed to billions of viewers across the world.

The Qatar 2022 Bid Committee will work closely with Swiss infrastructure specialist Nussli, who are providing expert solutions to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Qatar is aiming at creating a fantastic family-friendly atmosphere inside the stadiums. After the world cup, the 12 Permanent stadiums in Qatar will provide a lasting legacy and contribute to the continual development of the sports culture in the country

Well now we know FIFA doesn't allow Alcoholic drinks in the stadiums... however i already stated it will be available in fan zones nearby the stadiums, so that shouldnt be a problem anymore

My apologies, I may have got that wrong, I'm not sure.

The world cup qualifiers at Wembley - unlike the world cup itself - are, I think, held under UEFA's rules, not FIFA's. I don't know whether FIFA have the same restrictions as UEFA or not.

I do know that when we tried to buy a beer inside the stadium for our qualifier we were told that because it was an officially sanctioned match by ___, they weren't allowed to sell alchol. I can't remember whether they said UEFA or FIFA though.

Lets make some assumptions...

Why i think Michel Platini (UEFA President, France) would vote for Qatar ?

I am guessing for the Qatar-Bahrain Friendship bridge which has been mentioned in the bid a lot.

Why would Franz Beckenbauer (Germany) vote for Qatar ?

Maybe due to Qatar Railways deal with Deutsche Bahn to build a Railway-Metro network for Qatar which will also serve the world Cup. Another reason would be that the Stadiums are designed by Albert speer architects.

Why might Senes Erzik (Turkey) vote for Qatar ?

Probably due to the fact that a Turkish company is building the New Doha International Airport.

Why Hany Abo Rida (Egypt) would give the vote for Qatar ?

Arab Support

Arab Support

Qatar's 2022 World cup bid has been further boosted by the support of the Arab Soccer Federation (ASF), which claimed that the country had the credentials to host the sport's showpiece event.
A statement by the ASF urged all football associations in the Arab world to stand by Qatar as it attempts to bring the World Cup to the Middle East for the first time in history.

Even the UAE football association has placed Qatar 2022 bid banner in its main website homepage.
Why would Ricardo Terra Teixeira (Brazil) vote for the Qatari bid ?

Why would Amos Adamu (Nigeria), Jacques Anouma (Ivorey coast) and Issa Hayatou (CAF President, Cameroon) vote Qatar for 2022 ???

BBC: Africa to benefit from Qatar 2022 World Cup hosting
Some African countries will benefit if Fifa grants Qatar the rights to host the 2022 World Cup.
As part of its broader legacy, the Arab state will donate the upper tier of some of its 12 stadiums to developing countries after the tournament.

Why would Mohammed bin Hammam (AFC President, Qatar) vote for Qatar 2022 ?

Well, Isn't it obvious ?

All your stadiums would want retractable roofs and air conditioning if this was to happen, no player would want to play their matches in 40+ degrees weather.

we have this technology years ago and we will apply it on the new stadiums Fifa members will be visit Al-Sad stadium in next september as example to see how this technology is found in Qatar long years ago (some fifa members already saw it such as Mr Blater, Mr Platini, Bin Hamam) plus the new stadiums will be using carbon technology which is eco-Friendly.

how it is working ?

( Solar thermal collectors on the stadium roof will transfer and store energy which on match days will chill water, creating cold air that will be delivered into the stadium and on to the pitch through slots in the seats. The system will continuously export energy to the Qatar electric grid, enabling the stadiums to be carbon neutral)

It's all about PR only if you have the substance to back up the style though.

Well Mr.Fitz, Most stadiums will have roofs, or at least all the ones announced now. And we will use eco-friendly energy efficient cooling using electricity harnessed from solar power, and when not in use the solar energy will go to the national electricity grid. The matches will most probably be played at sun set and at night so the sun will not add any more heat, naturally the air will cool down, but the cooling techniques will reduce temperature to 26-28 degrees Celsius.

haha, the thing is that franz beckenbauer also supported australias bid after being questioned at an adidas advertising campaign launch as well as the fact that every delegate seems to be supporting every bid, support is thrown around frequently and in the long run you will see that realistically qatars bid will get the least votes
