Fantastic project I always loved the aviation center, now it gets even bigger.
Darn, looks like they're thinking huge around Fraport!

it's actually not a terminal. it belongs to lufthansa. some company departments are based there, but it's not the headquarter

Mee too. I guess it will be the second longest office building at FRA after overall completion.

Traffic Figures June 2011
  • Passenger Numbers: Nearly 5.1 million passengers were handled (a 4.9 percent year-on-year increase)
  • Air Cargo: Around 180,000 metric tons (a 6.4 percent year-on-year decline)

Traffic Figures First Half of 2011:
  • Passenger Numbers: About 26.5 million passengers (an 8.3 percent increase)
  • Air Cargo: Nearly 1.1 million metric tons (an 1 percent rise)
  • Maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) grew by 7.1 percent to 14.3 million metric tons
  • Aircraft movements rose by 6.7 percent

Does anyone know if Skyteam/Oneworld will move out of T2 to T3 when it opens? T2 is rather small.

T2 is small indeed, but there is as far as i know some capacity left. Sure some have to go.. i think both will go to T3 and also all the airlines not in an alliance. Lufthansa and star alliance will own both terminal 1 and 2.

All Skyteam, Oneworld and non-alliance airlines will move to T3 when it opens . T1 & T2 will be used by LH and Star Alliance airlines only, T1 for national, european and intercontinental flights to asia, T2 for intercontinental flights to north and south america and africa.

I don't see this happen. T2 for intercontinental flights to north and south america and africa is way too small. There are not enough jetways for those flights. You would have to board most of these flights by bus and this will not happen in my opinion. I think there will not be a seperateion of destinations between T1 and T2. the reason is easy to explain. An aircraft coming from the USA can also have its next flight going to Asia, so they would have to move the aircraft to another gate. I think the T2 will also need some new construction to fit into the Lufthansa concept before they can use it the way they would like to. What I can imagine is that the Star Alliance partners will move their Check-In counters into the T2 but the area where all Star Alliance flights will depart will not be seperated between T1 and T2. I think these 2 terminals will be used as one terminal.

At the beginning Im glad to welcome everyone

Im student of civil engineering from Warsaw UT.
I've got the great question: if somebody has got pics, draws, scheme or just information about LT hangar for A380 (pictures in this topic posts). It would help a lot with my diploma work
