Amazing aerials.

Seems there is already lots of stuff going on the T3 site. Perhaps early preparation works.

It is an interesting picture. There are only 5 airplains. I think this is a realy rare situation, when you consider the numbers of flights and passengers mentioned above.

I think this picture was taken during the volcano ash time, the planes were not parked at the terminal.

exactly. almost all planes were parked away from the terminals, most of them in the western part of the airport.

Frankfurt Airport passengers up 7%/Airfreight up 30% in June

Frankfurt Airport operator Fraport AG said today, that passenger numbers of FRA rose 7% to 4.85 million and airfreight increased by 30% in June.

"These numbers convincingly show that the finance and economic crisis has been overcome and that the aviation industry - despite several small traffic blips - is back on track to reaching and even exceeding the results of the pre-crisis years", Fraport executive board chairman Dr. Stefan Schulte said.

"The Squaire" what strange name. I bet that lot or most not native speaking english persons can't pronoaunce this name. "Airrail Center" was much more easier.

Traffic demand at FRA "stronger than ever"

Even though FRA is operating at its capacity limit, the airport welcomed 7.7 percent more passengers (5,281,632) in July 2010 compared to last year. Handling 188,244 metric tons of airfreight in July, FRA registered a new monthly record and a 20.4 percent year-on-year increase. "Our latest passenger figures impressively show that we are not only performing well compared to the 2009 crisis year but that traffic demand at Frankfurt Airport is stronger than ever," explained Fraport executive board chairman Dr. Stefan Schulte. Let's see how FRA kicks off with its new capacities.

Afaik, the two eldest runways can't be operated independently because they are too near next to each other. the other two can be operated independently from the others (Startbahn West only for take-offs).

great aerials. I wonder if FRA is ever going to be finished? it seems, it has constantly been a construction site for the last 4 decades.

I wouldn't be complaining... This would be a great sign indicating there are signs of growth and remain ahead of the game there is constant infrastructure upgrades etc..
