Moving steam locomotives, numbered D52 099 from TMII Jakarta to Solo.

This youngest steam locomotive will be at revive for purposes of history and tourism.
Lokomtif D52 Series is a multifunction steam locomotive operated by the Djawatan Kereta Api (DKA). This locomotive is the only type of main line steam locomotives ordered by Indonesia after the proclamation of independence.

Most people compare these locomotives with locomotive Baureihe 41 belonging to the German Federal Railways (Deutsche Bundesbahn), made by the same factory, in the same period. D52 locomotive has the typical features of locomotives from Germany, such as smoke deflector small size, standard boiler, and several other features. The locomotive is designed to be run with maximum speed up to 90 km/h, is rarely achieved at that time.

Here is a photo series locomotive D52 displacement trip from Jakarta to Solo.

What are those two circular things on either side of the headlight?

This looks rather like a Japanese locomotive.

Two circles on the right and left sides of the lamp has a meaning.
He is commonly called the slogan number 26 & slogan number 27.

In the palace there was a circle plate adjoining plate again no red triangle is placed on the left while the green triangle on the right

Green triangle / Semboyan 26 ------------------------ Red triangle/Semboyan 27

Semboyan 26

Announcement of the cancellation or merger of the train.
This slogan is shown in the first locomotive that runs opposite to the train is canceled or combined with a train behind him. This slogan is commonly used when a double traction.

Locomotive CC205 XXX

Semboyan 27

The announcement that the locomotive that shows this slogan will move the train.

Not only Japan, but this slogan has been used since the Dutch colonial era.

Electrische Staats Spoorwegen: ESS3300

Consider the plate on the right side of the lamp.

Staats Spoorwegen: SS1250 (PT KAI series: DD52)

With the progress in the present time, there are now modern devices such as Radiolok, HT, HP,
So that this motto seems to be ignored.
But sometimes required if all the manifold electrically damaged
But would nevertheless teradang mechanical origin remains valid.
Plate slogan like this is unique for the railway in Indonesia compared with other countries.

What gauge are all of these railroads supposed to be? Cape gauge, as on Java? Standard gauge, as was formerly the case on Sumatra and is currently found in China, the US, and Europe? Meter gauge, as is found in Indochina?

Indonesia's rail gauge is 1.067 mm, although 1.435 mm and 750 mm lines previously existed.

All newer constructions in Sumatra (Aceh-Medan), Sulawesi (Makassar-Parepare) and Kalimantan are using the 1.435 mm gauge though.

Brace Yourself, LRT Will be Coming Soon in Papua

Quote:
The Indonesian government is up on their heels to improve the transportation infrastructures in Papua. Currently, they are building Trans Papua Roads, Train, Sea Tolls, and many more. By building more transportation infrastructures, they want to help the distribution of goods and better inter-connectivity in Papua. Furthermore, the government also hopes that with these developments, the economic growth and welfare in Papua will be improved.

Currently, there is also good news from the local government of Papua. The Provincial Government of Papua is planning to build light train or LRT (Light Rail Transit) that spans around 37 kilometer (km) from Mandala Stadium in Jayapura to Sentani Airport in Jayapura Regency. There are more good news. To ensure the quality and safety of the train, they will order the train from Japan. The train that is going to be used is the same as the one that’s being used in Japan for their public transportation.

“This light train are made in Japan. The purchase is due to the consideration that right now, Japan is most advanced in railways industry. Why do we use light train? Because this will be used for urban areas, so its focusing on public transportation,” said LRT Development Planning Consultant, Domonggus Urbon, as cited from Okezone.

Because of the topography in Papua and the lack of land that can be used as roads, train becomes one of the solution that is chosen by the Provincial Government of Papua. The reason why they are choosing light train or Light Rail Transit in Papua is because they can build the rails above, crossing mountainous area in Syklop and beaches in Jayapura City.

“The development of Light Rail Transit in Papua from Mandala Stadium to Sentani will help the realization of a more effective and efficient public transportation that can also boost tourism in Jayapura,” said LRT Development Planning Consultant, Domonggus Urbon, cited from detik.

There will be 11 stations for the Light Rail Transit in Papua, which are, in front of the Mandala Stadium, the Governor’s Office, GOR, Mesran Terminal, Hamadi Market, Entrop, Youtefa Abepura Market, Tanah Hitam or Abe Beach, Expo Waena, Harapan Village, and the Station near Sentani Airport.

With these developments, the Provincial Government of Papua hopes that it will solve the public transportation problems in Papua. In addition, they also want to ensure the best public transportation for the Papuan people. The existence of Light Rail Transit in Papua will give the Papuan people a more convenient and comfortable public transportation, not to mention that they will also use a train from a leading country in terms of train technology.

Next Year, BP Batam Will Build LRT in Batam

Quote:

I personally like the north beach route, as its less challenging landscape route, and more people live here than old routes.
But on the negative side, it will requires some land acquisition, which can be difficult.
Comparison study should be made, which is more profitable?

Somehow I think that land aquisitions for infrastructure should become easier, but in any case, I would prefer both routes to exist and be double-tracked. Otherwise, at least the old spur to Situbondo should be reopened to give Bondowoso its connection and give Situbondo the connection to Jember.

Beyond Situbondo is one obstacle: Baluran. I'm not so sure laying new tracks there because of the nature and also the volcanic activity in case laying it in tunnels. But it would be the fastest way to go to Bali, as East Java should know Banyuwangi is far from always the final destination for people and goods, so I hope they consider a bridge or tunnel as well, ultimately connecting to Denpasar and ease the burden on air traffic.
