Looks like after all the back anbd forth on new sites, they end up right back where they started, a complete replacement of Ivor Wynne into a new modern 22,500 seat stadium for the Tiger-Cats and the Pam Am games. They will start to tear it down after the 2012 season and the Ti-Cats will have to play elsewhere is 2013.
No renderings yet, but there is this site

Wish the new stadium were rectangular and why can't all of the stands be demolished for brand-new ones?

I don't think there is room all around the end zones, it is in a residential neighbourhood so it may be limited by streets, but I have read that all stands are scheduled to be demolished and replaced.

Wouldn't the rebuilt stadium still have received noise complaints from nearby residents?

Difficult to get a true idea with these black and white renderings, but looks promising

Is it fair to say that Bob Young is going be written down in history as one of the worst Ti-Cat owners thanks to this *beep*storm that really shouldn't have been a big deal?

New York City soccer stadium

http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1110/...the-stadium-we

The most important sport of the world in the most important city of the world !!!

I hope and think that the Cosmos ( or another NYC soccer team ) will play in MLS at Citi Field by 2013 and in a new soccer stadium in Queens by 2015.

Borough Boys NYC

Sell out RedBull Arena first...

There are a handful of cities more deserving than NYC right now.

Two teams in one city has already failed in LA. When NYC can compete with the massive crowds of Seattle Sounders games THEN they can BEGIN to think about another team there. Expanding too much too quickly will be a massive mistake.

Why ruin a beautiful stadium like Citi with Soccer? Go prove you can sale out a small football stadium before you go to a BIG stadium. Prove you can sale out your main teams new stadium before we talk about getting you a new team.

Good point. It was designed for baseball, not sports.

The headline reads:

MLS Commissioner Don Garber: If we can build the stadium, we will have the 20th team in New York City

Good luck with that Napoli.

Can't see New York getting a team anytime soon. Its not the most important sports city in the world, Think thats London well next year anyway ! Think they are wanting to built a new stadium next door to Citi Field. Can't see them letting Major League Soccer teams play in the Champions League.

No, it's not. But the headline doesn't state that either, it's the most important city "of" the world. lol, "of" the world? It's the most important city "IN" the world...or "ON" the world if you want to be technical.

Because you spew the same nonsense on the BigSoccer forum. Did you seriously people wouldn't know who you are if you used a different screen name? Every post you make is the same, it includes something about a stadium in NYC with some unrealistic date. If I had a nickel for every one of your posts like this I'd probably be able to build my own stadium in NYC with that money.
