Ternopil Lake
Ternopil Lake (Ukrainian: Тернопільський став, known as Komsomol Lake before 1992) is a man-made lake in Ternopil, Ukraine. It was created in 1548 by Jan Amor Tarnowski as one link in a chain of fortifications encircling his residence, the Tarnopol Castle. In the 16th century the lake stretched for 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) up to the high dam carrying the Lwów Highway.
The lake, formerly renowned for its fisheries, had silted up by the mid-20th century and was further damaged during the Second World War. It was reconstructed and expanded in 1952 to include a network of marshes bordering the Seret River. There is an old Soviet motor ship still operating on the lake. A local version of the Jet d'Eau was inaugurated in 1975.

Kyiv Pechersk Lavra
Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Ukrainian: Києво-Печерська лавра, Kyievo-Pechers’ka lavra) also known as the Kyiv Monastery of the Caves, is a historic Orthodox Christian monastery. Since its foundation as the cave monastery in 1015 the Lavra has been a preeminent center of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity in Eastern Europe. Together with the Saint-Sophia Cathedral, it is inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Currently, the jurisdiction over the site is divided between the state museum, National Kyiv-Pechersk Historic-Cultural Preserve, and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as the site of the chief monastery of that Church and the residence of its leader, Metropolitan Volodymyr.

Potemkin Stairs
The Potemkin Stairs (Ukrainian: Потьомкінські сходи, Pot’omkins’ki Skhоdy), is a giant stairway in Odessa, Ukraine. The stairs are considered a formal entrance into the city from the direction of the sea and are the best known symbol of Odessa.
The top step is 12.5 meters (41 ft) wide, and the lowest step is 21.7 meters (70.8 ft) wide. The staircase is 27 meters high, and extends for 142 meters, but it gives the illusion of greater length.
In 1837, the decision was made to build a "monstrous staircase", which was constructed between 1837 and 1841. An English engineer named Upton constructed the stairs. Upton had fled Britain while on bail for forgery.[9] Greenish-grey sandstone from the extreme northeastern Italian town of Trieste (at the time it was an Austrian town) was shipped in.
As erosion destroyed the stairs, in 1933 the sandstone was replaced by rose-grey granite from the Boh area, and the landings were covered with asphalt. Eight steps were lost under the sand when the port was being extended, reducing the number of stairs to 192, with ten landings.

The steps were made famous in Sergei Eisenstein's 1925 silent film The Battleship Potemkin.
On the left side of the stairs, a funicular was built in 1906 to transport people up instead of walking.[citation needed] After 50 years of operation, the funicular was outdated and was later replaced by an escalator built in 1970. The escalator broke in the 1990s, the money for its repair was stolen,[citation needed] but it was replaced with a new funicular in 2004.[10]
After the Soviet revolution, in 1955 the Primorsky Stairs were renamed Potemkin Stairs to honor the 50th anniversary of the Battleship Potemkin uprising. After Ukrainian independence, like many streets in Odessa, the Potemkin Stairs name was returned to their original name, Primorsky Stairs.

Freedom Square, Kharkiv
Freedom Square (Ukrainian: Площа Свободи, Plóshcha Svobodı) in Kharkiv is the third largest city-centre square in Europe.
Originally named (1926-1996) Dzerzhinsky Square after Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Bolshevik secret police (the Cheka, precursor to the KGB), it was renamed after Ukraine became independent in 1991. A monumental statue of Lenin was erected in the square in 1964.
The main part of the square is limited to the west by the statue of Lenin, to the east by Sumskaya street, to the north by the hotel Kharkov and to the south by Shevchenko park. It is approximately 690-750 meters long and 96-125 meters wide. The complete square is approximately 11.6 ha[1] or 11.9 ha.
Queen + Paul Rodgers performed at Freedom Square during the Rock the Cosmos Tour on September 12, 2008 and gathered 350,000 audience members, the show was recorded for a DVD release Wikipedia

Winter in Crimea
The autonomous republic of Crimea is part of the Ukraine, and is within the peninsula from which it gets it's name. It is washed by the Black Sea on the West, South, and South East, and by The Azov Sea in the North East. In the North, the peninsula connects with the continental Ukraine .
The nature of the Crimea is very rich. The is referred to as the "Microcontinent" because there are so many different natures landscapes. The highest point of the Crimea is Roman Kosh at 1545 meters. At the South, The Crimean Mountains form three ridges that reach for 180 km, from Sevastopol to Feodosia.

Was built for the money of Gerasim and Andrey Kondratiev - the first Sumy colonels
The original form of the church was lost, so the modern look church had received due to the restoration work in 1970th.
This church has 2 (two) floors and a great basement with the tonnel to the river Psel.
During the Soviet period of history it was used as storehouse and then as a museum. Now it is the orthodox church.
The fact: it seems the church was used as a fortress - it has 1,5 m. width of walls, deep windows.

But where is country in the world which does not have any economics problems now in time of financial crisis?
I think I must work and I will have less these troubles.
Why you always say that Ukraine is state of the third world? Yes , the quality of life there is than in some country in the EU (Romania, Bulgaria), and high than some country in Asia and Africa.
