BONN | Beethoven Festspielhaus
The city of Bonn has announced the 4 concept-aspirants for the new Beethoven Festspielhaus, the replacement for the old Beethovenhalle.
Looks like Beethoven's hometown will get a top-notch festival hall. I don't particularly like the look of the interior of that Hadid hall though.
I think overall the Richard Meier & Partner concept is best. |

Interior design "Rhein-Kristall" is the best, while I like the outer design by Zaha Hadid the most. How about combining them?

I agree, the interior design of Isozaki's concept is pretty spectacular. From what I've heard the architects still have time to modify their designs before the city will select the winner.

Zaha Hadid is so repetitive. She needs some new ideas.

Zaha Hadid's "Diamant" and Hermann & Valentiny's "Wellen" are in for the final race. The two concepts won the preliminaries. Construction costs are rumored to be around 75 Mio. € (not sure if that's up-to-date)

Zaha Hadid's looks exactly the same as every other thing she has done. Aren't we all tired of it already? It looks exactly the same as the new concert hall that was proposed for St. Petersburg, Russia.
Still, Hadid's design is still the best out of the bunch. None of them are particularly outstanding, and Bonn deserves better. |

yes all of zaha hadids designs are the same, but they are still amazing. tell me that would not be a fascinating building if built. same with frank gehry, he builds the same thing every time, but it is still cool

I love Hadid's style and I think it would fit really well on that spot at the riverside.
When I think Beethoven, I think magnificent, frantic and emotional. To me, Hadid's concept is closer to that. |

From those 2 I think I would prefer Zaha Hadid, since the Waves look a bit like a copy of Sydney Opera House...
