Concordia Tower

"INOCSA has developed the Conceptual Project for Bucharest’s “Concordia Tower”.

It is a 36 story office building 175 m high, located in Bucharest’s sector 3, at the junction between streets Mircea Voda and Olteni, in the city center.

The building is planned in consecutive scales, both structurally and regarding installations. It is organized around a central shaft that has all the necessary services for each floor, as well as handling the horizontal wind and seismic resistance. The tower is made of three 11-story-each-packages, hanging from a double technical plant that is used both for installation of these packages and to handle the structural traction weight. The front works as an external structural mesh that takes the external strength to the core by means of the technical floor. The building’s floor is triangular due to the ground shape. The building’s ground floor is 1000m2 wide, being 250m2 of them used for the 750 m2 landscape offices. This building will have the maximum supporting level (platinum) according to the organization LEED."

Thanks for the info guys Overall I see there is potential to create a nice cluster in the area and from what I understand the place looks to be bordering large boulevards hence making this idea more feasible.

@LeClerk, they were ready to build the tower in 2009, but because of the crysis...
@BG_PATRIOT, it seems so, the whole area around the expositional center will be filled with big projects, creating a cluster, maybe Bucharest s main business center , cause the city will have more clusters in the future. already these areas begins to be created little by little.

so here s a map with the projects proposed or already built.

1. Ana Tower by Westfourth architecture.

2. another tower with the same high.

3. City Gate Towers by Westfourth architecture.

4. Hyper Offices Complex by Synthesis architecture with three solutions for the same site.
a.

b.

c.

5. Unicredit-Tiriac Bank by Westfourth architecture.

6. Offices by Westfourth again

7. tower 25 floors.

?. proposed towers, possibly this ones:

Niro Tower.

or
this office development by urbanoffice architecture.

Thanks a lot Pescarush for the nice presentation of projects in the area! :appplause:

For the Hyper Offices project, I like them all, but 'b" looks best IMO.

How tall is the Urban Architecture tower?

UniCredit HQs will be U/C starting next year.

BTW: Which towers can be seen reflected in the UniCredit HQ rendering? The City Gate towers?

Works to the 'Colosseum Shopping Center' retail project begin four years after being announced

British developer Nova Imobiliare will start the construction of the 'Colosseum Shopping Center' retail project, located on 'Soseaua Chitila' Road in Bucharest - a project first announced in 2006. The complex will spread upon 620.000 square meters and will feature 480 stores and anchors, like French retailer Carrefour and DIY retailer Leroy Merlin.

The developer will invest 400 million Euro in the construction of the mall, in two phases. Colosseum Shopping Center will cover an area three times larger than AFI Palace Cotroceni.

The retail project will include a retail park and 3 malls - each for a certain type of public: one for families, another for youth, while the last will be dedicated to luxury shops.

The first phase will consist in the construction of the retail park and will be completed in 2014.

The Colosseum: Construction of one of the largest Shopping Centers in Europe started in June 2010

A spectacular shopping and entertainment center will be created in Bucharest’s Sector 1. The Colosseum Shopping Centre & Retail Park a total of 190,000 m2 will comprise of 132,000 m2 covered retail space, with more than 480 shops and 8,500 parking spaces as well as 58,000 m2 of Retail Park. The construction works already started June this year on the site of 602,000 m2 in Sos. Chitilei.

In the first phase of construction, a retail park will be built - with units ranging from 1,500 m2 to 19,500 m2. More than 70 % of the retail park is already leased out. Among the tenants are well-known brands such as Carrefour Hypermarket, a Flanco, Altex and a DIY-market of Leroy Merlin.

Upgrade of Traffic Infrastructure.
The investment volume for the whole project will exceed 350 million Euro and is being placed by the company Nova Imobiliare. Improving the area’s infrastructure will ensure swift access to the site, via dedicated underpasses connected to a new, three lane highway ensuring unhindered access to the centre. Approximately 1.57 million residents are located within 30 minutes driving time of The Colosseum and 1,300 vehicles currently pass by the site during peak hours. This figure is bound to increase after completion of the retail park. The transport concept also foresees a brand new bus and tram station

Project Partners
For the realization of this unique project, the best European and US-American companies, of their class, were engaged to create a team of unrivalled expertise. The architectural planning is carried out by Leach Rhodes Walker architects, one of the leading architecture firms in UK and Romania. Interior design is created by Darrell Schmitt Design Associates from Los Angeles, California. Leasing of The Colosseum is carried out by King Sturge and Jones Lang LaSalle., The extensive planning of the transportation and technical structure is conducted by the international engineering companies Waterman International and WSP Group.
